My league had an owners meeting yesterday,
One question brought up was what to do with the players salary/contract when you trade them?

Especially if it's player for player,
Player for multiple players?

Any ideas thank you !!

Players get traded with their salary and contract intact. No get-out-of-jail-free card; that's the point -- the challenge and the excitement -- of a salary cap league.

having a bunch of cap space is a resource that teams can leverage in SC&C leagues.

not only can you rebuild by exchanging older veterans for draft picks, teams with cap space to burn can rebuild by taking on the bad contracts of other teams (via trade)...often to get players at a discount or, even, to be compensated directly for doing so.

the Browns acquisition of Osweiler is a great real life example.

Typically (as in MFL leagues) salary and contract are transferred "as is". I don't know how RSO does this. Goirish points at the Browns for example, but I will use another Browns trade:

They drafted T Rich and traded him to the Colts while they absorbed most of his salary (kinda like trading blind bid dollars).

Awesome guys thanks,

I have told them, it is the Risk they are taking and the sc&c goes with the player

exactly the same.

their whole thing is to mimic as closely as possible how the NFL does it.

Yeah, RSO makes it so simple.
