Optimal Starter to Roster Ratio
What is a good rule of thumb for maximum roster sizes. We have 12 franchises and 15 starters (7 – Off; 7 – Def; 1 – K). We have a taxi squad of 5 which include drafted rookies which may be held in perpetuity unless started. Also note, that this is a contract/salary cap league. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Re: Optimal Starter to Roster Ratio
I like 7v7 format. I broke into IDP in that format and found it to be very balanced. I think a good rule of thumb for roster sizes is double the starters (30 in this case).
I wouldn't recommend that ratio in smaller leagues, nor am I a fan of super deep leagues that are completely barren of pluck 'n plays. I play in 16-tm, start 24 leagues with roster maxes at 46. I couldn't imagine mining for players if our rosters were 50-60 players deep.

Just a guy who loves fantasy football - specifically defense.
