Offseason So Far

Postby ADrunkenCaveman » Fri Feb 03, 2017 9:33 am

Team 2 in sig. Salary/Contract League. $1000 in cap.

I took this team over this offseason and the team was the #2 seed in the playoffs only to get bounced out in the first round (after the bye). The team with the #1 seed is 10 times better than any other team in this league so if I kept the team the way it was I would be hoping to finish as runner up every year.. These are some of the trades I've made:

Trade 1:
Gronk, M Gordon, Cobb, & Meredith
For
AJG, Ebron, C Coleman
**Saved $94 in cap

Trade 2:
4th round pick
For
Rudolph and Treadwell
(Owner needed to dump serious cap)
**Took on $65 in cap

Trade 3:
AJG, T Coleman, 2.6, 2018 1st
For
Nuk and Ingram
(Sig not updated yet)
**Saved $125 in cap

Total savings in cap $154.

Previous owner had less than $30 in cap without a chance to take home the ship based on the #1 teams roster.

I feel like I made my team better while saving much more cap in the process..
How did I do?

If you're strictly talking about gaining cap space, then it really depends on whose available for you to spend that money on. If you save all that money and there isn't anyone to spend it on then the cap savings don't mean much. However, I do like the moves you made to acquire the players you did, and if this additional cap space allows you to get another big piece or even two then I think you're moves look great.
