Contract Years for Larger Rosters

I'm looking to start a 10 team Dynasty League and was wondering if their was a rough rule of thumb for the number of contract years per franchise based on the number of roster spots.

We are looking at 50 man rosters plus 5 taxi squad positions. This is an IDP league. I was estimating 125 total contract years per franchise to encourage trades and player movement.

Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated.

I don't think there is a rule of thumb.

I'd say most rosters this deep probably allow for about


five 5 year contracts for the truly elite
8-10 4 year contract for certain vets and large potential
15 3 year contracts for your above average to man crushes
with the rest being comprised of 1-2 year contracts for the older vets and fringe players

so doing that math, it's about 170. 125 will indeed allow for more turnover.
