Packers at Titans, Week 1 preseason

Postby meineymoe » Sat Aug 09, 2014 5:17 pm

First Drive - all James Starks. Of note: the rookie Rodgers at TE, including getting a key block on the Starks' TD... that blocking ability will get him in the lineup.

It's raining like crazy in this game, btw, and Flynn started for the Packers. Lacy also won't play tonight.

DuJuan Harrid - remember him? - is the star of the next series for the Packers - he was the RB to have until he got hurt and missed all of last season. He's looking fine so far tonight in staking his claim as the backup to Lacy.

2nd quarter, and TE Brandon Bostick has the best catch and run so far - well, thanks to a couple of missed tackles by the Titan defenders. Still, he looked good on that play.

Quarless, at the end of the 2nd quarter, short-arms the pass from Tolzien -- he needs to make that catch with the TE battle in Green Bay... looks like he may be running a distant 3rd on the depth chart right now...

For Tennessee - Shonn Greene did most of the early running, including the TD. Sankey didn't get into the game until opening the third quarter. His first carry, not too impressive - taken down on an ankle tackle by a cornerback. Will have to see how he fares on his second series.
