In my mock, I'm going with Mike Evans here. I think if Watkins is available, then he is the pick.
I think the Raiders have plenty of needs, but a WR is probably at or near the top, so I don't really see them going any other direction.

The raiders have so many needs, but it's hard for them not to take the best WR on the board. I have the Raiders taking Watkins.

I agree, and I think a lot of dynasty people will end up taking Evans at 1.01 as a result.kingnesta wrote:The raiders have so many needs, but it's hard for them not to take the best WR on the board. I have the Raiders taking Watkins.

I'm going with Robinson. I'm a Raider fan, so maybe this is more hope than reality, but I think that with the depth at WR, they can grab a solid one early in the second. I also think they need a player that can make an impact this year given the GM and Coaches win now status.

Re: Countdown to the NFL Draft: 1.05 Raiders
Raiders are in a somewhat win-now mode even though they aren't super talented. They are built with older players like Schaub, MJD, McFadden (injury prone obviously), James Jones (man he is a great talent for a WR1 right?!). They need someone to come in and be a play maker. Sammy Watkins is the pick and I hate every minute of it.

Re: Countdown to the NFL Draft: 1.05 Raiders
I think that Robinson would be the best pick here for the Raiders but they're going to have a big decision to make because I think it's likely that all three of Watkins, Evans and Robinson are all on the board here which would make the Raiders a perfect candidate to trade down and acquire more picks. If a team like Detroit wanted to move up for Watkins the Raiders could still land a guy like Aaron Donald at 10 or Taylor Lewan. If they stay put, I think they go Watkins. I think the top 5 would go something like Houston - Mack, St. Louis (or Atlanta) - Robinson or Clowney, Jacksonville - Clowney or Watkins, Cleveland - Manziel.
