More than that, and when March arrives he’s going to get it too.
This also serves as a reminder that Jimmy is gonna get SO paid. I'm expecting 5/115 with 65 guaranteed.

If Kirk is serious about wanting to go to a contender, I don’t see how any team is higher on his wishlist than Jacksonville. GREAT defense, above average run game, good WR corps even without A-Rob. The team went to the AFC championship with Bortles at the helm, for Pete’s sake!

As a Bortles owner in a SF, I've been keeping an eye on him this off season. From what Ian Rapoport is saying, Bortles has been bothered by a hand injury since 2016, he had surgery on it last week, and the Jags seem willing to exercise their $19.1 million fifth year option on Bortles as a "prove it deal".

From what I read, the Redskins got a cheaper deal with Alex Smith than they could get with Cousins. Sorry, I didn't see the figure that Cousins was asking for. But, considering they are trading for Smith, I would assume it must have been significantly cheaper.

Bortles’s last three years were good, bad, and mixed (in that order). JAX has already spent all of the nearly free years on his contract. So why spend $19M on a mediocre QB, when a few $M more could land you a vast improvement?

I am more curious to see what Mahomes can do.

There are obvious choices for Cousins (Jets, Browns, Broncos); but something tells me the Vikings make a run at him.

Not like anyone predicted Smith to Washington.

Bortles has an injury guarantee and it is unlikely he would be healthy come March when they would have to cut him. Cousins is not really an option for Jax cause of this.

Oh.. And do not overlook the Bills.

Please have it be MN, just so I can hear the inevitable conversations:

Local A: Keenum is the best, we need to sign him long term because he is the real deal, look what he just did.
Local B: They just signed Cousins.
Local A: Well, good. Get rid of Keenum. He is a bum and last year was a complete fluke.

I am already getting flashbacks of the Stop, Drop, and Blow Brett Favre days.

We just saw the same system that was propping up Cousins make Goff look like a top end QB. It'll be interesting to see how good Cousins really is. I can't see Cleveland making much of a push. They'll be looking for a bridge to a rookie. The Broncos have a fair bit of cap space, but Elway has been pretty good about not overpaying QBs, and seeing where Osweiler & Kaepernick are now I can't see him breaking from that. Arizona is pretty tight to the cap. Not sure how much of a player they can be. The Jags just stated a committment to Bortles, which doesn't guarantee anything, but likely suggests they're not serious about going after Cousins. Vikings & Jets have to be front runners here I would think. Both have substantial cap space, a need at QB and draft position too poor to work much out on that end.
All I Der Is Win - 16 Team IDP League (Pass TD 6pts)

QB - Stafford, Stroud, Tune
RB - Swift, Hall, Penny, Bigsby, Ford
WR - Pittman, Olave, Di. Johnson, G. Wilson, J. Williams, Metchie, Robinson, M. Wilson

LB - Brooks, R. Smith, Phillips
DL - Crosby, Allen, Simmons
DB - D. James, Baker, Delpit
K - Just a stupid kicker

The Vikings have $53M in cap space in 2018, so if they want to, they can make a run at Cousins. I never really gave that idea much thought as I think they'll go with Bridgewater or Keenum with a long term contract.

I'd like to see Denver happen. They currently have $26M in space, but with other guys to re-sign or extend, that is much tougher to add a large contract QB.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

If I'm the Browns, I give Cousins a blank cheque. QB's of Cousins caliber don't reach FA often so this could move them a long a lot quicker.

Trade the 1st overall for a huge haul to a team desperate for a QB and draft Barkley 4th overall.

Good WRs without ARob, what? They pretty easily have the worst WRs of all the teams that made the playoffs, which is why I fail to see the hate for Bortles. He was throwing to a 4th round rookie, a udfa rookie, and Marcedes Lewis in the conference finals. Adding Lee to that group does not make a good WR corp.

Dynasty DeLorean wrote: Tue Jan 30, 2018 10:41 pm Well as a Doctson truther i'm glad Cousins is gone. Every time I turned on a Washington game this year Cousins was missing Doctson terribly. Under-throwing just about every deep ball. I know Cousins puts up good stats every year but I was not impressed this year at all whenever I watched him. Idk maybe it's just me. Of course Alex Smith is not exactly the type of guy you want throwing to your WR either. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.
it went from bad to worse IMO... holding on to hope but i'm not excited in the least
