Seneca Wallace to Browns

Postby blacksheep » Mon Mar 08, 2010 6:32 pm

From Rotoworld-

Browns acquired QB Seneca Wallace from the Seahawks in exchange for undisclosed compensation.

The move, likely involving a late-round pick, reunites Wallace with Browns president and ex-Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren. It also paves the way for Derek Anderson's release. Wallace, 30 before the season, offers very little upside, but has shown the ability to at least keep a team competitive in spot starts. He holds a career completion rate of 59.9 and TD-to-INT ratio of 25:14. If training camp began today, he would compete with Brady Quinn to start. Mar. 8 - 8:26 pm et

wow... as a Browns fan, all I can say is... Seneca Wallace?! I guess it's better than nothing, but I certainly hope there is a better long term answer somewhere.

I would have thought that Troy Smith had a lot more upside.

The biggest part of this story in my opinion is what is Seattle going to do with the backup QB position?? As much as I love Hass, he is injury prone and at the end of his career. The backup QB is sure to see significant playing time this year with Hass at the helm. Senceca Wallace was a serviceable backup and filled the role here in Seattle well.

Seattle is in trouble at the QB slot and are screwed if St. Louis and Washington both go QB in the first round. This move is a shocker from Seattle's standpoint.

Seneca Wallace just became the Browns best QB which is sad to say the least.

I wouldn't be surprised if Seneca is actually the starter this season in Cleveland, with Holmgren possibly drafting another Qb later in the draft. In Seattle it looks like a QB is going to be drafted pretty early, Buenos Dias, Senor Tebow!

Hahaha....If Clausen and Bradford are gone...look for Seattle to reach for Colt McCoy.

I think if Bradford or Claussen is there at #6 they take them and then go OT at #14.

My prediction...Bradford to St. Louis and Claussen to Washington. Shanahan sees a little Cutler in Claussen.
