Trading for Aaron Rodgers

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trading for Aaron Rodgers

Postby gaz29 » Tue Apr 08, 2014 6:37 am

My team is as follows in a 16 team league:-

QB - Kaepernick, Schaub
RB - Ray Rice, CJ2K, Vereen, Ellington, Miller, K Robinson
WR - Julio, Fitz, Crabtree, Decker, Patterson, Hopkins, Kearse, Hankerson, Goodwin,
TE - Graham, Rudolph

Start QB, RB, 2 WR, TE, RB/WR/TE

Scoring 4pts TD, 1pt per 25 yds passing, additional pts for 300+ yds per game (applies to QB) and 40+yd TDs (applies to QB, RB and WR). 1pt per 10yds Rushing and Receiving.

There are IDPs in the league as well but the trade doesnt involve them.

I have been trade I have been offered is as follows

Give - Kaepernick, Graham and 1.12

Get - Rodgers

However the same guy traded for RGIII eariler in the offseason for Gio so has kinda set the QB market value already so I am reluctant to part with all 3 pieces for Rodgers. I appreciate Rodgers is ranked #1 and both Kaepernick and RGIII in the 5-10 range.

What would be a suitable counter for Rodgers?? Replace Graham with Rudloph or something else?? I want to use some of my WR depth to get a trade done. In the past he has wanted both Julio, Crabtree and Kaepernick for Rodgers, Gio and Sanu.

His WRs are Garcon, Floyd (ari), Randle, Sanu, Hunter, Hill and Brazill so could use some help for sure I think. His RBs are Tate, D Murray, T-Rich, Helu and J. Randle.

Your thoughts on the offer and any counters is appreciated. :D

As long as that Graham is Garrett, Ray, Shayne, or TJ Graham, it's good. Otherwise, homey is off his rocker. I wouldn't give up Graham by himself for Rodgers. Pff!

A suitable counter (assuming he really is off his rocker) probably won't work. But, I'd buy into trying something like you suggested (replace Graham with Rudolph) or maybe a Kap/Crab for Rodgers/Randle offer.. ?

To second that: I like QBs more than most in 2QB leagues and MUCH more than most in 1QB leagues. And I am a Rodgers die-hard (i.e., #1 overall pick in a 2QB league without it being close). Still, in a one-QB league, I would, at worst, consider Graham and Rodgers equal. At worst. You can take that for what it's worth.

Try Kaep, Decker, and the 1.12
If Decker doesn't work, up it to Crabtree.
That is fair but Decker trade would be a slam dunk.
