Montee Ball

Postby Pheels » Wed Feb 05, 2014 5:56 pm

PPR. IDP.

I have a team, complete rebuild. One draft pick, 4.05 for this year.
I have some young pieces, but only a few. Edelamn is my best OFF players. Eli at QB.
RB- Ball, D Wilson, Knile Davis, A. Brown
WR- Edelman, Dwayne Harris, R. Randle, T. Williams
TE- Fauria,A Robinson, D. Sims

a few young guys with upside on WW. Bids are out on them now.
Ball is probably the player I am trying to trade for something more. Looking for the kind of value he holds.

What would ya'll look for in a Ball for +++

Thanks

Best time to move Ball for what you would need in return is after we find out where Moreno is going. When Moreno does go (assuming he doesnt give Denver a discount) Ball's value will shoot way up. Right now Ball won't get you much more than a 2014 mid to early 1st or maybe 2 late 1st round picks. I think you have some work to do with this roster and selling Ball now just isn't a good idea for you. Patience.

some, that is nice. Thanks. I did not do this either by the way.

Had an offer of Glennon, L Miller, 2015 2. first offer. I have not countered yet. Neither of those guys are for sure starters next year. Glennon played well, but a new coaching staff, who knows. Miller, just has not been impressive, people just dont seem sure if he is a starter there.

thanks for the info. Just trying to gauge value, for a getting package deal in return.

Thanks

would Deandre, Lattimore and 2.06 for T Williams and M. Ball be an even deal?

I think so yes. I have it as Hopkins > T.Williams and Ball = to slightly > Lattimore, so the 2.06 would help to even out any perceived differences based on risk with both Lattimore and Ball's 2014 roles.

Last deal didn't work out. Num was traded before I was able to make an offer.

Does anyone have any recent trades they have seen with Ball?

Appreciate it.

Where did all your picks go?
Anyway Ball will be probably seeing some value spike in a couple months. I would look to sell him then unless someone blows you away with a great offer (early to mid 1st +)
I would sell him though if I got an offer I liked.

This was an orphan.

Definitely would like a mid first. It's the + part I'm trying to figure. What young players are within the value of ball after the first?

I'm in no hurry to trade him, for the reason you stated. But just getting into the league, don't know the owners. Been tough figuring up some counters. Only other league I own Ball in, I'm haven't been looking to trade, so not quite in tune with his value yet.

Thanks

Im not a huge believer in Ball from a standalone talent perspective, but I love whoever the Denver RB1 is and if Moreno does in fact league I believe Ball will be a top 5-10 RB fantasy production wise.

If you're wanting to sell Montee, now is not the time to do it.

While I wouldn't be quite this optimistic RB5-10 I agree his value will see some movement before the draft and quite likely it will rise some.
However I also think DEN is very unlikely to start next season with Ball/Hillman/CJAnderson as their RB stable in the event Moreno signs elsewhere. I would expect a veteran guy with some 3rd down/pass protection skills would at the very least be brought in

Would anybody consider trading Ball for Ray Rice. I've been knocking around some trade offers and I have one with these two as part of the mix. Its not the whole trade but its part of it.

Yeah I would definitely think about that deal
Especially if I got a pick upgrade in return but I would definitely deal Ball for Rice

Hey what are you saying?

I probably won't move Ball unless I get an offer that I can't refuse. I wasn't excited about getting rid of Ball to begin with. As it is I've got a pretty solid group of players to keep building on. Several more years of contention on this squad.
