This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

StePhn hill

Postby farmerj3 » Tue Mar 19, 2013 2:24 am

My team is in the sig. I've been offered a 2014 1st for stephn hil from a owner who has finished no lower then the 1.10. I like stephn hill even though he's raw, but I'm also an pretty
Deep at wr.... Is this something I should consider? Note that I will probably get another project wr with either my 1.11, 2.1,2.2 or 2.4 as well.

Your team is pretty well-rounded and set all around. From what I see, you have no reason to make the trade (or any trade for that matter), especially if you like Hill. Why put off the project WR another year when you already have one under the belt with Hill? If you feel you need or want a 2014 1st, see if you can package two of your 2013 picks.

Or at the very least, I would wait until after the NFL draft to better project what WRs might be available between 1.11 and 2.4. If you feel strongly that any of those WRs are in a better situation than Hill (I'm sure they will be), then I'd consider the trade. In the meantime, I don't see a compelling need for you to do anything.

That's valid input... My only hesitation is nExt years class is looking solid and if he gets unlucky who knows where that pick lands.

Guess it depends if you wana gamble. I would keep him. Buy next years draft his calue may still get you the same pick or higher. Whoever you take with 2014 will probably need a coupla years to become relavant.

I'd just at the chance to get rid of Hill for about the same, or better, value than you paid for him. He's coming off an injured rookie season; was a project to begin with; has a terrible team/QB situation.

Hill is worth a late first at best and this guy may give you a top 5 pick next year. Sounds good to me. Hill was pretty much all combine hype anyways, he runs fast but has pretty much no football skills and poor hands. I guess if I really liked him I'd have to think about it but pretty easy trade for me. You'll be kicking yourself a year from now if you don't make the deal imo.

If he were playing anywhere else it might be a different story, but I'd take the pick.

Thanks ...took the trade but also got a 2014 2nd... One correction is in three years , his best draft pick has been 1.10.. He usually finishes in the super bowl, semis etc... But you never know, and I pretty much got what I gave to get him etc.

My thoughts exactly... I liked Hill more than anyone I know before the draft. He went to the Jets.... Story more or less ends there. They're a mess. Glad you got to reboot and try again. Hill may pan out some day, but its going to take time..
