DJ vs Fournette

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

DJ vs Fournette

Postby Z$$$ » Fri Apr 19, 2019 4:44 pm

Team 1 in sig.

Posted this topic in the “Player Debate” tab but no takers as of yet.

What’s the difference in theses two? Would this be fair?

Give: LF & 1.05
Get: DJ & 2.05

Thanks!

I would agree that DJ > Fournette, I don't think the gap is that much. Probably an early 2nd at most..

Johnson and Fournette both have big question marks heading into this year. I think including the 1.05 is too much

I like DJ, quite a bit more than Fournette. He can’t stay healthy and even in a down season, DJ still had 1,400 total yards and 10 total tds. I think the deal is fair for both sides.

I thought I was higher on Fournette than just about everyone, but I still want the DJ side here pretty easily.

I am in the minority and will take the gamble on LF and the first.

I’d rather have the DJ side. Not surprised in the LF doubts but I am surprised just how far DJ’s stock has fallen to make this an actual debate

I'd easily take LF + 1.05 over DJ + 2.05. Fournette just turned 24, DJ is already 27 and will be 28 in season.

Yes there's big downside if Fournette doesn't seize the job & keep it this season, but you could argue his upside is at least as high as DJ's over the next 4 or 5 years. And it's not like DJ's risk free with an entirely new coaching regime rolling into town. Who knows how well he fits in or acclimates. It's not all upside is all I'm saying.

I’m a little unsure what big questions marks you think there are for D.J. this year?

If your mean the new offense schemes, which is the only unknown that comes to mind, Kingsbury offense can’t be worse then a McCoy/Wilks offense where D.J. had the worst YPC of his career and still finished as RB9 in PPR. I would take Kingsbury’s unproven NFL offense with D.J. as his “centerpiece” all day vs the question marks of Fournettes health, character issues, and offense in Jax.

D.J. side easily for me here. He is 27 and sat out a year with the wrist.

I think it’s a fair offer however since most are not hot in either player at the moment.

RB: CEH, Hines, Cohen, Evans, Perine,

2021 picks 2nd, 4rd,

I’m actually a fan of both theses guys, and it looks pretty fair to me. As an owner and buyer of Fournette this offseason, I can tell you he’s almost radioactive to some owners. In my leagues there are large groups of owners that just want nothing to do with him. So if u are targeting DJ and get that kind of return on LF, do it.
