Brandin Cooks vs. 1.01

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Brandin Cooks vs. 1.01

Postby joekuhns11 » Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:24 am

Team #2 in signature

We start 2RB, 2WR, 1 Flex

I give: Cooks
I get: 1.01

I'm going to pretty much start Mixon, Gurley, DJ, Keenan, AB every week, so Cooks is just depth. I was thinking about doing it, and then trading a few lesser pieces for some more WR help.
Team #1 (Finished 2nd)
QB - Watson
RB - Hall, Jacobs, Mixon
WR - Tyreek, Jefferson, Chase, Jayden Reed, Godwin, Cooper
TE - Goedert, Kmet
2024 Picks: 1.05, 1.10, 2.01

Team #2 (Finished 1st)
QB - Tua, Pickett
RB - Hall, Barkley, K. Walker, James Cook
WR - Chase, D. Smith, D. Adams, Hopkins, Jameson Williams
TE - Laporta
2024 Picks: None

I would rather have Cooks than the 1.01. He may not be elite, but at least you know what Cooks is.

This.

Cooks is a reliable back end WR1 who is still young and locked into a great offense. Would need more than 1.01 to move him.

I wouldn't call Cooks a WR1, but I do think you know what you're getting from him and would be great depth for any team. I'd say the value is fair, but keeping Cooks makes more sense for your team if you're competing.

you could probably turn the 1.01 into more than cooks but not by picking there. I'd hold.

I mean Cooks is a back end WR1 there's no argument against it. Didn't he finish top 7 twice in the last 4 years? I would easily take him over a gamble In this class. Cooks is also really young right now, and AB won't be as productive eventually.

While your "projected lineup" are all guys that I love, they also all get hurt, or play for Oakland. Cooks will start multiple games for you this year. Much more value in a 25 year old vet on the most explosive offense in the league than a guy who will likely be 100% landing spot dependent.
All my teams suck. And I'm not in your league.

I definitely keep Cooks. Still young. Still productive. Still in a great offense
