This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Zach Ertz for Trey Burton+

Postby metalmat » Mon Apr 01, 2019 8:01 am

1st team in sig

I give: Zach Ertz, Rex Burkhead, 2019 3.13 pick

I get: Trey Burton, Damien Williams, 2020 1st round pick (probably mid)

Here is the deal, I love Zach Ertz and he is a key piece to my team. However, I have come to grips that while I have a good team in that league it is just not good enough to win the league because their is one MONSTER team in the league that I just can't hang with unless I get lucky and I foresee another 2nd finish for 2019. I mean... just for a sneak peak his starting WRs are Davante Adams, OBJ, Michael Thomas and JuJu, it's insane. Ertz's value will probably never be higher so I am shopping him around, so what do you think about this trade?

This deal gets you no closer to being a contender in my mind, in fact it sets you back. Easy pass. I think shopping Ertz is a great idea to try and get you more stocked up to compete with the big team but that offer is not close.

I’m in a similar situation, my team is absolutely stacked (in sig) but there’s a team in my league with:
Mahomes
CMC, Gordon, Kamara, Chubb
Davante Adams, Tyreek
Kelce

Im grappling with what strategy to pursue. I’d say keep Ertz. I don’t think trading him gives you a good enough return and I don’t know how many WR’s you can start in your league, but I don’t think you’re too far away if things break right. I’d look for a better offer or hold.

I’ve been trading away prospects to acquire likely high 2020 picks hoping for a “home run” to put me over the top.

It’s a tough situation, I’m curious to hear about how you approach it.

Easy easy pass. I like the idea of you shopping Ertz, but that's nowhere near his value

Don't feel like you have to sell Ertz. For one, all it takes is getting lucky in one playoff game to knock out the top team. Also even if you can't upset the top team, fantasy is a helluva lot more fun when you're at least competitive. Don't bail on a good team just because someone else has one that looks better. Anything can happen

Thanks for the help my friends. I decided to go a different route and try to upgrade my WR position to compete and not do some sort of semi-rebuild. I'll stick with Ertz
