Chubb + ____ = Zeke?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Chubb + ____ = Zeke?

Postby Life of Pablo » Mon Apr 01, 2019 7:54 am

Team in sig - thinking about trading Chubb+ to get Zeke. Wondering what you guys think it would take to make it happen, and if it's even something that would be good for my team? Even though I'm asking the question in the context of my own team, you can always just give a general value answer instead.

I can always pay extra to receive a little something else in return. The first two things I'd be willing to part ways with is either Sammy Watkins (his #2-4 WR's is Robby Anderson/Manny Sanders/Tyrell Williams) or the 1.09. He could also use some RB depth but I don't think he'll be interested in my bench guys.

Players/picks I could look to get back in return: 2.02, Jameis Winston (I could use some QB depth), Mike Gesicki (TE depth too). Nothing else that's both appealing and potentially affordable besides Rashaad Penny, but I doubt he would deal both him and Zeke in the same trade.
10-team standard, 18-man rosters (plus K/D + 1 IR + 2 TAXI)
1QB | 2RB | 2WR | 1TE | 1FLEX

2022: 5-1, 2nd (AP: 47-7 / 87.0%, 1st)

QB: Hurts, Russ, Carr
RB: Chubb, Pierce, Swift, JRob, D'Ernest, Ford
WR: Diggs, Evans, GDavis, Nuk, Keenan, Hollywood, Mooney, CSamuel, Doubs
TE: Kelce, Dulcich, Fant
2023 Picks: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th

Chubb + Watkins with all the Watkins hype this off season may interest the other owner. Your team is stacked, therefore if you really want Zeke, Chubb, Watkins and the 1.09 should get it done.

B/c of his red flags, I prefer Chubb to Zeke, so wouldn't be willing to add to him.

And with your team, I think it makes even less sense to make that kind of move.

Yeah it was the Tyreek news that got me really starting to think about trades in the first place lol. Idk how many people would take the risk on paying up for Watkins by himself, but I think he currently makes for an intriguing piece to add to a bigger deal like this. Feel like if I'm ever gonna sell him, it's now or never.

Interesting. I can see the argument for Chubb > Zeke when thinking more about the next 3-5 years, but I feel like Zeke will be as safe a bet as you can get for at least the 2019 season. Love his talent too. Hope I don't sound ignorant but what red flags are you referring to?

There have been some nonsense articles going around about 300+ touches being the start of the decline for Zeke. The greats, however, aren't affected as much. Tomlinson had like 7+ season over 300 touches.

That was my suggestion earlier in this post. I think that is a solid package for Zeke

I would offer Chubb, Watkins and the 1.09 for Zeke and Gesicki. If he will not include Gesicki, I would still do it.

I’m sorry but maybe I’m missing something here. As a Zeke owner this would barely move the needle for me. Chubb I like but he is not close to Zeke. Watkins has never done anything in 5 years. Why would he now just cause Hill has issues? Pick 9 in a weak draft? I would not take those 3 for my Zeke.

I swear people get so hard for Chubb it's unreal lol. The only red flag I remember is Chubb tearing His ACL + MCL + LCL ligaments all at 1 time in college. I don't have Zeke in any of my leagues but if I did those offers wouldn't make me excited at all. Zeke is the best pure runner in the NFL right now, and he's the same exact age as Nick Chubb (23). He's had 2 more NFL seasons than Chubb, which at that age doesn't scare me at all, but instead backs up why I would value him a lot higher than Chubb - he's proven. He's basically a lock on 2k yards year after year and let's not forget this year he started catching receptions to. He's gone up from 20/30 to now around 80. He's literally the mold of the perfect RB to own in dynasty IMO. Chubb has Hunt now competing over there + Duke Johnson still, and his receptions are probably going to be Jordan Howard like unless your naive and think they won't play Hunt or Duke Johnson (although he could get traded).
Dynasty Team 1:

Dynasty Team 2:

10 Man, Half PPR, Double Flex

RB: Barkley , Mixon, Javonte, Jacobs, CEH
WR: AJB, Tyreek, Lamb, Aiyuk, Bateman
TE: Kittle

For everyone excited for Sammy Watkins Breakout! A List of his injuries. The man is made of GLASS. There is nothing around it. That recurring pedal foot is a KILLER for WR's. Talk to AJ Green about it he'll tell you more. His pedal foot gets re-injured and new screws added to it every year it's ridiculous. He has 5 months to heal his broken pedal foot and then someone STEPS on it during practice and he goes BACK on IR... You can't make this up. Not to mention I wouldn't be surprised if the chiefs cut him after this year and save themselves 16 million dollars. I think Watkins and the Pick are 2 insane dart throws that don't really add anything significant to the deal.

Nov 19, 2018 NFL Pedal Foot Watkins lasted just 5 snaps in his attempt to return from injuring his right foot. He missed the final 5 regular-season games, following a Week 12 bye. Watkins returned for the playoffs.
Nov 4, 2018 NFL Pedal Foot Watkins suffered an unspecified right foot injury against the Browns and missed the following game.
Sep 21, 2017 NFL Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 Watkins departed in Week 3 but returned for Week 4.
Jan 1, 2017 NFL Pedal Foot Fracture Watkins had 2 screws inserted into his previously fractured and repaired left foot, following multiple recovery setbacks.
Sep 20, 2016 NFL Pedal Foot Watkins missed Week 3 and then landed on IR -- designated to return -- after a teammate stepped on his surgically repaired left foot in a walkthrough. He missed 8 games, returning in Week 12.
Apr 13, 2016 NFL Pedal Foot Fracture Watkins fractured his left foot in an April workout training and needed a screw inserted.
Oct 18, 2015 NFL Pedal Ankle Sprain/Pull Unspecified Grade 1 Watkins sprained his left ankle on a TD reception in Week 6 and missed the next 2 games.
Sep 27, 2015 NFL Leg Calf Strain Watkins suffered a reportedly "mild" strain to his left calf against the Dolphins in Week 3 but did miss 2 games.
Aug 17, 2015 NFL Thigh Glute Strain Watkins sat out the final 3 preseason games with a glute injury.
Nov 30, 2014 NFL Inguinal Hip Tear Watkins had minor surgery after the season to fix a slight tear in the labrum in his hip. The injury cost him no game time.
Nov 5, 2014 NFL Inguinal Groin Pull Grade 1 Watkins had a minor groin pull in practice coming out of the Week 9 bye that did not cost him any playing time.
Aug 28, 2014 NFL Chest Rib Bruise Watkins aggravated a previous rib bruise and left the preseason game against the Steelers.
Aug 16, 2014 NFL Chest Rib Bruise The rookie missed 1 preseason game after sustaining a rib bruise in the 3rd preseason game.
