Doctson

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Doctson

Postby AresGodOWar » Fri Mar 22, 2019 6:04 pm

I know he hasn't produced since being drafted high but he has been hurt and really hasn't had a QB either. I know Keenum isn't good but he did have Thielen , Diggs , Sanders all produce at high levels.

Questions , What could Doctson do if he is the #1 WR this year , What would you want for him ?

Great question. I'm still very intrigued by Doctson and tried to acquire him. I think he is simply a hold as no one will pay what owners want for him. If he does not produce this year, I'm guessing he will have almost no value however.

He should be good, hasn't been good, but still better than Tread.

I just don't have a clue what to value or think of him , Someone has to catch passes from Keenum this year why not Doctson right lol , Sanders averaged 18.5 ppg last year in Den. with him.

I think his upside now is basically what Kenny Britt did that 1 year in St. Louis, when he had Keenum for part of the year. As to how likely that upside is reachable - hard to say as I think it is too early to predict target usage for the Redskins, at least with any sense of accuracy.

But given 100-120 targets I'd say 60-70 receptions with 850-1000 yards & 4-6 TDs seems doable.

I'd say this is a fair estimation of how he'll do next year. I'd project on the lower end of all the categories though. If I were to offer a trade for him maybe a late 2d - early 3rd round pick I think would be fair at this point; but he could be a good buy for that

Yeah, but Sanders was proven good before Keenum came rolling into mile high. Doctson isn't. Sure could be, but not yet.

I’d pay a mid 2nd for him.

Washington is going to be an absolute 5hitshow this year. Doctson is so bad he makes me worried about the incoming rookie receiver class cos so many of them comp to him.

Avoid or sell for anything.

QB: Murray, Stafford

2. 12 team 1pt PPR. Start 1 QB, 2-4 RB, 3-5 WR, 1-3 TE. Yr 6.
QB: Jackson, Allen
RB: Akers, CEH
WR: Chase, M Brown, Pittman, M Williams
TE: Tonyan, Hooper
2023: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

3. 12 team superflex, PPR (WR/RB/TE 1/1.25/1.5). Start 1-2 QB, 1-7 RB, WR, TE. Yr 5.
QB: Jackson, Prescott, Brady
RB: Singletary, Harris

I feel like everytime someone includes "someone has to catch passes" as a logical argument for a WR, it is an automatic red flag to either avoid, sell those assets, or wait and waiver wire add someone later.....I have used that argument before and gotten burned.

I mean someone had to catch passes from Lamar Jackson and Josh Rosen last year right...
Too many teams and lineup changes to keep track of them all.
