Who to take in dynasty superflex startup?

Postby Panthers357 » Thu Mar 21, 2019 7:26 pm

I’m at 3.01 in a dynasty superflex startup and debating who to take? Thoughts on Julio, Diggs, Amari, Keenan Allen, David Johnson, Dalvin Cook or James Conner? I took Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers as my first two picks. Wilson and Wentz still available but I think I need to fill some other positions.

I’d take R Wilson, load up on youth after and sell ARod during season for 2020 1sts/more youth

I'd take Wentz but if you insist on getting players I'd take Dalvin or Conner.

This would be a loss of major value imo. he could have used that second rounder for a better sure thing then use on arod to trade for a future 1st and a piece.

I think Wentz or Wilson would have been the way to go on value alone

I'd have taken David Johnson. His supposed 'down year' was still 1,400 yards. Could have been a scoop picking up an elite RB in the 3rd round and traded for way more value if you wanted to.
TEAM 1
Dynasty PPR 1QB (12 Team League)

QB - Murray, Fields, Pickett, Howell.
RB - Gibbs, R. White, Swift, Javonte Williams, Charbonnet, Allegier, Tank Bigsby, Penny.
WR - Nacua, Dell, Hollywood, Jameson Williams, Burks, Mooney, Atwell, Melton, Phillips, Washington, Lazard.
TE - Ferguson, Mayer, Knox.
DEF - Bills, Vikings.

Rookie Picks: 1.02, 2.02, 3.02, 4.02 and 5.02.

TEAM 2
Dynasty PPR - SuperFlex and TE Prem. (16 teams)

QB - Prescott, Pickett, Ridder, Mariota, Mullins, Willis.
RB - Walker III, R. White, Montgomery, Singletary, R. Jones, Mack, Hull, Sermon.
WR - Adams, Higgins, Watson, Meyers, Gabe Davis, W. Robinson, Dotson, Raymond, ARob.
TE - McBride, H. Henry, B. Jordan, Bates, B. Hopkins.

Rookie Picks: 2.14 and 3.14.

I took this approach in my startup and ended up stacked at QB with not much else on my roster. I would speculate that one could also ignore QBs, in a similar draft, then trade cheaply for them afterwards.

This is true in most leagues, but there are some SuperFlex leagues that don’t value QBs highly as this seems to be the case here. I think the OP made a good move going non QB. Why get stuck with 3 solid QBs and have your RB1 as Tevin Coleman? In these SF leagues moving a QB for their true value is difficult. I’m, unfortunately, in one SF league where QBs are devalued. Can’t get a decent offer for Rodgers anywhere.

Did you make the pick yet? Of the guys in the poll, I'd go with Allen...but agree with those telling you to take Wentz or Wilson. If anything, you should be able to move one of your QBs after the draft for any of these players and then some.

When’s your next pick? I can’t believe Russell is still there. I’d probably take him at this point depending on when your next pick is. If it is far down the line, I’d probably take a solid WR1 here like Keenan or Diggs.
