Mark Ingram's Value

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Mark Ingram's Value

Postby A-Aron Rod-gers » Fri Mar 08, 2019 12:53 pm

Wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on Mark Ingram. Does he have any chance at landing a work horse roll in FA thus making his value go up? Is it best to see him now? If so what type of value would you be looking to get in return for him?

I'm interested to hear other's thoughts too. I just got an offer where I get Ingram and 2 2020 3rds for Corey Davis. I feel like that's not enough, but I could see Ingram going to Baltimore, Chicago or even Tampa Bay...

ace1250 that is not a bad offer at all. Mark Ingram could go to one of those team and see some serious production and you have a chance to get him cheap and also collection some draft picks in a good draft class. His value will go up if he lands in a good spot in FA

I think if he lands in Tampa or Baltimore he can be a work horse back. Both of those teams have historically preferred using one back predominately with only occasional sub ins for breathers. Arians while in ARZ seemed to prefer a one back system whether it was Ellington in his hay day or DJ when he came about.

Even if he gets a good spot though, I'm not sure his value will go up much. He already has that old man tag that a lot of dynasty players typically like to avoid. Late 1st is probably the best you will ever get for him even if he goes somewhere and puts up RB1 numbers.

And if you think that is a lie, James White is younger, was a RB1 for more than half the season last year and was a late first at best.

I see Ingram back with the saints. Probably the same old ingram of years past. If he lands in BAL or OAK or somewhere like that in FA his value will go up and that is very possible. I just don't forsee him leaving NO. If you can get any kind of 1st id take. He does not have crazy milage but the man is 30.

He won't be 30 until late Dec, but yeah, still old for a RB.

Can't see him staying in NO. He's already said that he's willing to bet on himself (to me that means a below market 1 year deal somewhere), he wouldn't be willing to do that if he was going to get extended in NO.

I think its likely that a team like Baltimore, TB, Oakland, or NYJ sign him for a year or two.

Depending on the contract and cap space, he could also end up in Phili, which given their history with RBCs is probably not a great spot for him.

As a fellow Ingram owner id love to see it. I just feel like he will be back in NO. The best contract he can get will be like 4m the saints can get close enough.

General consensus sounds like if you can get a 1st for him pull the trigger. Would you rather have a 1st this year or a 1st next year?

I agree with most here, his value is around a late 1st/early 2nd and Corey Davis is worth more than that, so I would make that trade @ace1250

I don't see him being a work horse back, even if someone signs him to be. I also don't know there are many owners willing to pay a 1st for him, but wouldn't blame you for not selling for a 2nd.

Pending landing spot, I could see a late 1st maybe. I sure would not pay that though.
