Acquiring Julio from a rebuilding team for young assets- Thoughts?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Acquiring Julio from a rebuilding team for young assets- Thoughts?

Postby TeaBagCentral » Sun Mar 03, 2019 4:07 pm

I am in a 14-team league and there are not many opportunities to ever pull off 3-for-1 type trades. We currently only have two teams that are so noncompetitive that we classify them as "rebuilding". I am going "all-in" for a championship hopefully in the next few seasons so I did give up some good young players for Julio. Do you think I will regret this decision?

The Trade:

What I gave up - Robert Woods (was my WR4), Tarik Cohen (was a starting RB for me), and Courtland Sutton (Depth/WR5 for me)

What I received - Julio Jones (will be my WR2), Ronald Jones (do not have high hopes lol but who knows with Bruce Arians), and an early 2nd round pick in the 2019 draft

Opinions please!?

Seems like a lot to give up for Julio Jones but he should have a few more years of elite production. Hopefully Ronald Jones finds a better stride this year too.

Agreed that I gave up a lot. I probably should have added that we do not have large roster sizes (I see you have a 30 person roster). Our roster size is 16 players so it is not as hard to find depth on the waiver wire hence why losing a player like Sutton is not as big of a deal since bye-week replaceable players are obtainable in our free agency pool. I hated given up Cohen though. I think Woods could potentially fall back down to Earth with Cooper Kupp's return but who knows!
