Need some offseason advice

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Need some offseason advice

Postby keebs3 » Mon Feb 18, 2019 7:43 pm

12 team Superflex

Start 10: QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/WR/TE/FLEX/FLEX/SFlex

Rodgers/Goff/Ryan
Evans/Arob/Robert Woods/Anthony Miller/D. Parker/J. Gordon/J'Mon Moroe/R. Matthews/Berrios
Sony/T. Coleman/C. Thompson/McCoy/Ito/Burkhead/J. Kelly/Booker/Smallwood/J. Allen/Justin Jackson/Perine
Kelce/Goedert/ASJ

2019 picks: 2.02, 3.04, 3.10, 4.10

I'd love any thoughts. So far I've been trying to get back into the first round but I can't sell Arob for anything more than the 2.01. My only other offer was AJG, K. Rudolph and the 1.10 for Kelce and Arob.

I was the 3 seed going into the playoffs last year, I'd say I can compete but an injury or two would kill me. Anyone I should sell? Or should I ride this team while I can?

No one is buying Arob for more than the 2.01?! I don’t know what to suggest but I wouldn’t do the Kelce Arob trade

I'd start by determining if you want to make a run this year. As you noted, you have some fantastic pieces, but the back-end of your starting line-up and your depth are worrisome. If you ARE going to make a run, then I would NOT be trading assets to get into the first round. That just adds a player who will need time on your bench to develop.

Rather, I would trading away picks and/or other pieces for players that can help you now.

If you decide that 2019 isn't your year, then you need to figure out if you're one year away and just need another piece or two or if you need to rebuild. If you're rebuilding, then trading up to a first this year is probably a backwards step: you'd need multiple assets, not one. If you are re-tooling, then perhaps getting a first-round pick this year to help in 2020 makes sense.

In short, I'd first focus on what you're goal is before deciding whether or not to trade up for a first-round pick.

is there a reason that you want a first round pick? is there a player you covet?
your only real weakness is RB...perhaps wait until the rookie draft and try to trade your 2.02 for a 2020 1st...
