How many 1sts for Mixon?

Postby LMS123 » Mon Feb 18, 2019 4:17 pm

This morning I completed a trade for Christian Kirk for team 1 in my sig. With that I feel my base QB's, WR's, and TE's are pretty solid, but im missing an rb:

QB - Mitch Trubisky, Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson
RB - Todd Gurley, Aaron Jones, _______________
WR - Stefon Diggs, Corey Davis, Christian Kirk
TE - George Kittle, David Njoku, Trey Burton

I'd like to acquire an RB to complete my trio with Todd Gurley and Aaron Jones. Obviously a guy like Mixon would be ideal but comes with a price. Picks I have are:

2019: 1.09, 3.10, 4.07, 4.10
2020: 1st, 4th, 4th, 4th
2021: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

Is there a combination of picks and players (not including the 11 aforementioned above) that might get it done for Mixon or a similar type guy (young and talented)?
Jake Fromm State Farm (12 team PPR SF)
QB: Purdy, ARich (TS), Levis (TS), Bagent, Hall, Rudolph, Fromm
RB: Roschon (TS), Allgeier, Hill, Demercado, McLaughlin, Mitchell, K. Harris, E. Wilson
WR: Addison, London, Jmo, Shaheed, Reed (TS), Pop D, Iosivas, C. Jones, Mooney, T. Palmer, Scott, Tucker, Austin, Gipson, Melton,
TE: Musgrave, Mayer (TS), Trautman, Gray, Jordan
2024: 1.01, 1.07, 2.04, 2.10, 2.11, 3.01, 3.06, 3.07, 3.11
2025: 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4

Mixon is a tough one for me to evaluate. On one hand, he’s super talented and really young but on the other hand, he’s on a team that could go into rebuild mode with a new coaching staff coming in, so I voted that he’s worth two 1sts.

Try for Kerryon/Guice. They're not cheap but I think they're cheaper than Mixon and both have 3 down back abilities imo.

Mixon would be very pricey this off season I feel. I'm own Mixon and honestly it would take a lot for me to even consider moving him. 2 1st round dart throws would not even moved the needle. He missed 2 or 3 games last year and was the RB 8. True 3 down back with great pass catching ability.

I don't see the ammo for Mixon on your team that would make sense. I think Cook or Kerryon might be good targets. Njoku, 19 and 20 1st rounders is a starting offer

I also wouldnt tie yourself to the idea that you need a RB that badly. I see WR as just a big of a need for that team

Personally, I really like Mixon, but his cost, like others have said, will be very high. Maybe Sony Michel could be another option, I really like him too but he will be expensive too. Like was mentioned above, K.Johnson looks to be in a good situation and should be cheaper than Mixon.

Very fair, Mixon is a DUDE. Some other guys I was thinking that could be lighter price tags and still good value are:
Marlon Mack - but there's still the chance they sign/draft someone
Rashaad Penny - still behind Carson but could be a good buy low
Devonta Freeman - coming back from injury, coleman will be gone so he should be a workhorse depending on Ito
Hunt - doesn't help me out immediately though
Bell - landing spot is uncertain so he's probably a hold for most
KJ/Guice - as mentioned by some others already

I don't think I would ever pay more than 2 firsts for a RB .

Assuming this is 2QB/Superflex:

I'd start with Njoku and 1.9.
If that fails, I'd try 1.9, 2020 1st and Burton and keep easing pieces in there.

If you get him with 1.9 and a 2020 1st then thats a steal but I think you'll need to add a player on top of that to get KJ

If its 1qb, I'd be looking to send one of those QB's that are not named Baker with those picks and I don't care which one it is.

It is a SF; and I like having Lamar as my QB 3 because if he doesn't have a long career it doesn't really hurt my team with Baker and Trubisky still. Not that a back up TE is essential but if I move Njoku my concern then is only having Burton if something happens to Kittle

That's a very reasonable assessment and I completely neglected you having your league info in your bio so that's my fault. To me, what it comes down to is:

Would I rather have a backup TE1 in case Kittle gets hurt and if he doesn't just ride my bench or do I want Kerryon as my RB3 with the potential for him to be my #2.
Is Aaron Jones the starter next year? Him and Jamaal Williams have swapped back and forth with their roles the past 2 years and to me I don't think Jones has that spot on lock just yet assuming the inconsistencies still exist from the 2 in the Green Bay.

I'm not very high on Aaron Jones and would make this move with the mindset of I'll be starting Kerryon most likely and Aaron will be the RB3 if I were in your shoes. I'm very high on Kerryon and I think he will finish ahead of Aaron Jones next year by a significant amount.

Just my preference though as I liked Kerryon as a top RB in that class since watching him his Junior year at Auburn.

...Then again some people hate Kerryon. Just this would be my mindset if I were in your shoes. Hopefully you can work a deal out with your team!

I don't know if the number of firsts means anything to me. I'd want a very early first in 2019 and 2020 just to start. Having 3 late firsts even in superflex wouldn't move him from my squad.
T.1 - 12 team Superflex- 1xQB - 2xRB - 3xWR - 1xTE - 1xSFlex (13th year) ‘21&’22 champ

WR: Godwin, Olave, Deebo,DJM, Dell, MW, Doubs
TE: Kelce, Kmet, Musgrave

T.2 - 12 team Superflex- 1xQB - 2xRB - 3xWR - 1xTE - 1xSFlex - 1xWRT Flex (10th year)
QB: Burrow, Baker,Jameis, jimmy, Wentz,
RB: Saquon, Mixon, Rochon, Evans
WR: Pickens, QJ, Thielen, Arob, Juju, ODB, D. Parker, Osborn,
TE: Kincaid, Ertz, Freirmuth, Taysom, JWoods

T.3 - 12 team Superflex- 1xQB - 2xRB - 3xWR - 1xTE - 1xSFlex - 1xWRT Flex (3rd year) ‘21&’22 champ
QB: Mahomes, Burrow, Winston, Darnald
