This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

OJ Howard Trade

Postby grandmabetty » Mon Feb 18, 2019 12:02 pm

Ive made an offer that the owner is considering. Id like to hear your thoughts.

I get:

OJ Howard
Antonio Callaway

I give:

2020 1st
Greg Olsen

I really dont want to give up a 1st in 2020 but thinking Howard could be a beast

I'd pay that for OJ. Especially considering how awful the position is. Howard could def take a leap in Tampa.

id withdraw that right away you have HH, its a ten team league, you have more pressing needs to build than backup TE
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

I appreciate that standpoint. I really do and ive asked myself why I am trying to get Howard at all. I guess what I see is good value if this trade is pulled off. Curious, what do you think are my other pressing needs?

As far as Howard as a backup I guess I see both Howard and Henry as falling into the same type of category - that being both supremely gifted and potentially superstars but neither of them has pieced it all together yet so by having both im hedging my bets that at least one of them will pan out. If both do then I can trade one or just have two productive TE

update on the offer. He did not accept so I countered with:

I give:

2020 1st
2019 2.08
Greg Olsen

I get:

OJ
Callaway
2020 3rd

This team generally finishes near the bottom of the league and I have made the playoffs in each of the 4 seasons the league has been around so I figure that my 2019 late 2nd is roughly equivalent to his 2020 3rd. Greg Olsen may have some value but I think next year is undoubtedly his last so I don't mind giving him up. What I tried to do there was more or less throw a 2nd in the mix to make it look like I was increasing my offer but really with asking for the 3rd back in 2020 its pretty much the same offer. This tactic has worked surprisingly well in the past for me.

haha.. good move...a friend has a league with a snake rookie draft..he will often replace his 2nd round pick with his first in a counter...knowing that it is really only a couple picks different...but it usually works

I don't really like the updated offer for you. You have Henry so you're not desperate for a TE. I'd rather keep the 1st and 2nd and ride Henry coming back from an injury
