Trading julio, good idea?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trading julio, good idea?

Postby SkinzFan » Sun Feb 17, 2019 8:59 am

Hi evryone.
Im new here and enjoying this site. I believe I have a good, but not great squad. I'm considering using Julio to improve my running game or improve my spot in the rookie draft coming up in the summer. I have an offer on the table of Julio and McKinnon for Cooper, M Williams, Freeman and I swap my 1.07 pick for his 1.03. Should I follow thru or stand pat and improve my rb in the draft?
I'm in a10 team half ppt dynasty league, squad is in my signature

Welcome buddy!

What are your starting requirements?

I quite like the idea, I think top RB(s) are gone by 1.07. It gives you better WR depth now and chance to get best RB in draft should you wish. Im guessing Freeman is Royce too?

It would be a yes from me.

Cooper and Mike Will > Julio (Cooper alone is getting close to Julio)
McKinnon is only slightly better than Royce, but I'm not crazy about McKinnon so it's basically even there.
Then you move up a few spots for free...

I think this makes your starting WR position weaker going from Julio to Cooper but Mike Williams will be a better flex option than most of what you have. Getting a better rookie and flipping a RB you likely won't use anyway. Sounds good to me... I'm still curious about the starting requirements though. Unless it was something super shallow, I'm doing this deal

Welcome!

Which Freeman: D. or R.?

If D, then it's a no-brainer to accept the trade.

If R, then I'd still do it presuming that either (a) you think that Julio and Cooper are not that far apart OR that (b) M. Williams has a good shot of being a viable player.

Julio is likely to light it up again this year so you take a short term production hit. But Julio value will only fall from here so it is an optimal time to sell. This is a solid deal.

I’d sell Julio for that. You’re not going to find many owners offering that for an “aging” WR.
