Would you trade AB as a contender

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Would you trade AB as a contender

Postby mcdevittcj » Sat Feb 16, 2019 9:38 pm

12 team, .5 ppr, 4pt passing
Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1FLEX

Projected starter
Flex options

QB: Rivers, Prescott
RB: Kamara, Cook, Lindsay, Guice, McKinnon, Bernard, Dixon, Warren, Wilson, Dar. Williams
WR: Brown, J Jones, Woods, Landry, Fitzgerald, M Jones, Wilson, Hamilton, Quinn
TE: Ertz, Rudolph
2019: 1.12, 3.06, 4.07, 4.12, 5.12
2020: 1st, 4th, 5th

I believe I'm in pretty good short-term shape here, but I'd like some serious advice about what to do with AB because I'm kinda sick of his diva attitude and before he falls off completely I'd like to unload him. Of course, if I give him up I think my championship ready team takes a pretty big hit. Going from an annual top 5 wr being replaced by an inconsistent wr2 most likely.

I had an offer for AB and Guice that I turned down. It was 19 1.04, 19 3.04, 20 1st, 21 1st. I think it's too much unknown and if the other teams gets those 2 players, the future 1st could easily be late picks. I prob wouldn't even do Guice for the 1.04, so I'd be selling AB for potentially 2 late 1sts, not ideal.

I was going to offer AB and Bernard (he has Mixon), for 19 1.04, 20 1st, R Freeman, and MVS. Maybe asking a lot idk, but I'm still risking the immediate loss of weekly points by losing AB, which isn't ideal for a championship team.

Thoughts on what to do with AB as a contender? Ride em til the wheels fall off?

I would be looking to move AB now vs next year or in 2020. I would be looking for multiple first round picks/young upside players or a combo of the two. If you are high on the 2020 draft like most, this may be a great way to stock up for 2020.

I think the answer depends on your trust level in AB and his future situation. Even a contender can consider moving off of AB if they feel they are getting assets back that they feel will help them win.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

I moved AB last season for Mixon, Ridley, and Gesicki. At that time I was playing for next season but somehow ended up winning the ship. I'm glad I moved AB when I did because I highly doubt you could get that much from someone now.
