Trade Advice. Win now (opposition) vs Rebuild (me)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade Advice. Win now (opposition) vs Rebuild (me)

Postby Nflnz » Sat Feb 16, 2019 7:39 pm

Working on the following trade, which is a reiteration of a previous trade I posted.

The other team is in a position to win this season, I am rebuilding & have the 1.01.

Give: Ben Rothenburg, Joe Mixon, Keenan Allen
Receive: Jimmy G, Dalvin Cooks, Corey Davis, George Kittle

The way I view it is he gets an upgrade at each position (QB, RB, WR) for this season but he will have to part with Kittle.

If I cannot get Kittle he does have Eric Ebron but then I wonder if that sways the trade in his favour?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I probably wouldn’t move Keenan, and definitely wouldn’t move Mixon in a rebuild. What picks do you have?

Also is there another Ruben Foster that’s a wr?

I would 100% not move Mixon in a rebuild or a contender year. Cooks and Davis to me are huge question marks still.

I don't understand the comments of "I would not move 'Player X'." in a rebuild. If you're rebuilding, then odds are that you only have a couple of compelling players -- and it will be VERY hard to rebuild without moving them. Given how high Mixon's value is right now, I would absolutely be looking to move him.

BUT, I would not make this trade. You're going to want to target something like Mixon for Jimmy G + Cook + Kittle or even, say, Cook + Kittle + 2nd or something like that. That might be shooting high, and you can accept a little less. Then you could also consider flipping Kittle for two pieces -- maybe Henry + _____.

Bottom line, in a rebuild, you need to cash out your one or two elite options (since you only likely have one or two) for premium value. That does mean moving Mixon and Allen (thought you might not yet get the full return on Allen)... but not for this package. You need multiple positional upgrades to move Mixon, and you're not getting it here.
