Evaluation time.

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Evaluation time.

Postby hudini33 » Fri Feb 15, 2019 9:04 am

So my league is starting to trade again so I'm trying to assess my strengths and weaknesses. I think my strength is clearly RB with a weakness at TE. But would you sacrifice someone like AJG or Jones to get a high end TE? Or do I try to go after someone like Njoku or Henry. I could also draft someone, but they take awhile.

I don't see enough ammo for one of the top 3 TE without giving up a starter at WR or RB. AJ plus a TE won't get you Kittle

I like the idea of going after the next tier of young TE for maybe Sutton plus Rudolph or something

^Pretty much this.

I think I'd draft one, and maybe try and buy a cheap, but productive TE, for while you're waiting.

Guys you can likely get very cheap

Gronk: retirement rumors - still has a chance to bounce back next yr. Depends on price for him.
Olson: coming off injury. If he plays he'll prob be a TE6-8 because it's such a wasteland and Cam targets TEs highly
Walker: basically the same as Olson
Doyle: was targeted quite highly when playing, but the shine is off him due to Ebrons TD dominance. likely still a good ppr floor play.
Cook: if they don't add anyone, he'll be a focal point of the raiders offense again, and he's prob really really cheap.

I have Rudolph and Walker, so I can wait a year. I was thinking about buying low on Mike Gesicki. Would a 2nd round pick work?

Should, depending on the owner. I know in my team 2 I'd give him up for a 2nd

yah I'd say a 2nd is appropriate value. Some have really softened on him after this season, I might even initially offer a 3rd.

I doubt you can get one of the top-3 TEs without offering at least Green + 1st or Jones + 1st. Instead I'd consider trying Green for Njoku or maybe Jones for Njoku + 2nd.

I wouldn't try selling AJG now, the prices he's going for are ridiculous considering he was probably a 2nd round startup pick startups later year.

I’d throw Vance McDonald in here too. He’s not fashionable but finished TE10 in my league last year. With Jesse James going to Free Agency and AB likely leaving I think he should see more opportunities

I don’t see you having enough for one of the top 3 guys. I’d hold AJG and look to acquire a younger upside guy or vet and make a push this year
