Team Help

Postby FullRebuild » Tue Jan 22, 2019 7:33 am

We are entering the second year of our dynasty and I basically drafted / traded into a rebuild. Any ideas or advice on how to proceed. The way I see it, I could continue to acquire picks and young players or I can try and package what I have for a top player.

QB: Hurts, Wentz
RB: Taylor, Barkley, N Harris, Sanders
WR: Diggs, Evans, M Williams

If you are hoping to compete in a year or 2, stay the course. Your QB's are solid for years to come. Hopefully a couple of your young RB's pan out. I would try and move Hyde for a pick (if possible), move Tate and Burton and see what you can get. Not having any early picks this year hurts but at least you have a couple 1st's next year. I would also consider moving Evans if you got a solid young batch in return.

Your team is a lot farther away from competing than trading for a top player. You are in a slow rebuild. Trade some of your aging guys while they still have some kind of value, guys like Burton and Tate. Keep building through the draft.

I would not trade Evans, WR2,3 are gettable. 1300/10+TD guys are another story. Yours is still young. You build around him, not sell him. I would not puruse Rb's. Your 2020 picks will more than take care of that. As far as your WR's go, I would be willing to trade everybody but Evans. Lots of moveable young players with WR 2 ceilings. Trading Tate in mid season to a contender or even at the draft is a good idea. You won't get more than a 2nd for him probably, but you can always include that with your second in a package to move into the back half of the first sometimes or come up with some other creative way of getting value out of him.

Don't cash in your future assets for 1 stud, as it won't help you compete now. Hang on to Evans, he's your foundational player that will be good for awhile. Everyone else on your roster should be available. Try and maximize the value in every move you make, as you're going to need all the chips you can acquire. Examine your league's tanking rules and make sure you stay incompliance while doing your best to make sure you get 1.01 in what is supposed to be an excellent 2020 draft class. That's your best path to rebuilding IMO.
