Seeking SF Trade Advice

Postby oranje » Mon Jan 21, 2019 3:25 pm

I recently finished a startup draft and ended up with Allen and Foles as my QBs. I have the 1.04 and 1.05 in the upcoming draft as well as two 1st round picks next year. I have a few deals I'm mulling over: James White + 1.04 for Lamar Jackson, James Conner + 1.04 for Deshaun Watson or James White + 1.04 + 1.05 for Watson. Are any of these reasonable trades? Should I wait until next year to address the position of QB?

For reference, here is my roster:
QB: Allen, Foles, Rudolph, Dobbs, Hundley, Kizer, Lauletta
RB: Conner, Lindsay, White, Samuels, Warren III, Grant, Scott, Rawls
WR: Smith-Schuster, Edelman, R. Anderson, Kirk, Patterson, Amendola, Hamilton, Humphries, D. Jackson, Beasley, Inman, Watson, Pringle, Cain
TE: Thomas, Seals-Jones, Jarwin, Conklin
Team 1
12 team, Superflex, PPR
QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 Flex, SFlex
QB: Watson, Allen, Foles, Rudolph, Dobbs, Hundley, Lauletta, Kizer
RB: Conner, Lindsay, Samuels, Warren III, Grant, Scott, Rawls
WR: Smith-Schuster, Edelman, R. Anderson, Kirk, Patterson, Amendola, Hamilton, Humphries, D. Jackson, Beasley, Inman, Watson, Pringle, Cain
TE: Thomas, Seals-Jones, Jarwin, Conklin
Draft picks:
'19- 2.8, 2.9, 3.4, 4.9, 5.4
'20- 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5

Team 2
12 team, Superflex, 0.5 PPR
QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 Flex, 1 Receiving Flex, SFlex
QB: Mahomes, Allen, Foles, Bridgewater, Kizer
RB: McCaffrey, Lindsay, D. Williams, M. Brown, Smallwood, Richard, Grant, Warren III
WR: Edelman, R. Anderson, Hamilton, D. Jackson, Inman, Grant, C. Rogers, Bourne, Sherfield, Ateman, Fountain
TE: Gronkowski, J. Smith, Harris, Jarwin, Arnold, Conklin
Draft picks:
'19- 2.8, 3.5, 4.8, 5.5
'20- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

I would do the White and two picks for Watson. Your QBs are not good and this would give your team a major shot in the arm.

Adams, Kupp, Deebo, M Brown, Kirk, Wiliams, C Samuel, Palmer, E. Moore, Hodgins, Hutchinson

PPR Best Ball Dynasty SF .5TEP

How? How.

I’m assuming you’ve never played SF before?

I’m gonna be honest with you and not sugarcoat anything. It didn’t matter what you do, your team is atrocious and you are not winning anytime. Like ever. Certainly not in the next ten years. That’s the worst group of QBs I have ever seen in a SF. In my life. And the rest of your team isn’t that great either.

Good luck.

keep the picks...you need more than just one QB to compete....it's superflex..you don't have to start 2...
i think you will be able to get a QB with 1.04....then draft BPA with the other pick..
that team is a little rough.. i honestly can't figure out who you took with your 1st round pick...
good luck
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D

Thanks for the insight. I took OBJ at 1.9 and flipped him for 1.05, 2.08, 2020 1st and Kirk.

Watson >> White + 1.04 + 1.05.

Getting a top-tier QB is brutally difficult in an SF league, and you have a way here to do it without breaking the bank. He's young enough that you can win with him in a couple or in a few years. That you don't have to give up any of your 2020 picks is amazing. RUN to grab that.

Unless...

...you are a believer in Jackson long-term. If so, then you should see if Conner + White + 1.04 + 1.05 gets you BOTH Watson and Jackson.

Solid trade, really brings up your qbs. Watson and Allen is a solid starting duo, especially if the bills get some more offensive pieces this offseason. I'd spend a good number of your remaining picks on rbs trying to find this years Hunt or Kamara (common 2nd round rookie picks)

I'd be all over the 2 1sts for Watson deal. I don't care how far off some people say you are to competing, if you make a few of those trades you will be just fine.

Stay away from doing anymore of those OBJ deals now, ya hear?
