Rodgers v. Wilson

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rodgers v. Wilson

Postby Edgy68 » Sun Jan 20, 2019 12:18 pm

For Panthers SF, I have a Packer fan looking at my Rodgers for his Wilson. Due to age, he'd like H. Henry on top to make the switch. I realize it makes me younger, but I'm balking at giving up a promising asset to get 5 years younger at QB and move to a run-first offense. Wilson doesn't run as much as he used to, so am I off base here?

I would not include anything in that deal on top of Rodgers

Henry is too much but the age difference makes me prefer Wilson slightly

I’d rather Rodgers even straight up for Wilson.

Good to hear I wasn't off base. Thank you, all.

I'm going to disagree with the above posters here. I think that while Rodgers may keep producing startable fantasy QB1 stats for a few more years, he will no longer be a lock to be an elite QB1, and his trade value will start dropping soon. Also, even though Wilson >= Rodgers in 1QB, I think that Hunter Henry (who I value as a late 1st) would be worth giving up to get five years younger at QB in a superflex format.

Plus, you already have Kittle and Engram as well. Henry is a risk/reward asset right now, and I think you can get out on a risky TE prospect who may or may not pan out for a valuable QB upgrade in superflex.
