OJ Howard buy or sell?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

OJ Howard buy or sell?

Postby Bot101 » Sat Jan 19, 2019 9:24 pm

So we all know Arians has a vertical offense which heavily utilizes WRs but not TEs in the past. However Arians hasnt had a TE with the talent of Howard. Will Arians just disregard this and simply do what he always done? Will Howard be merely a blocking TE or could he be involved in the passing game? Im just unsure of what to do.

Right now the Howard owner and I are discussing a trade. Currently we're at

Give: James Washington and Trey Burton

Get: OJ Howard

Ive been in TE purgatory for 2 years and I'd really like to get out lol. So I'm hoping this could he the cheapest ticket out.

I’d do that and I’m not worried about OJ with Arians. OJ himself is a downfield threat.

Hes also a phenomenal blocker and Arians likes TEs blocking to allow more time for the WRs to get downfield. Thats my concern.

I'd pull the trigger. I think OJH has a fine year and I'm not at all a Burton believer.

Do it. OJ could be a monster. Burton isn't and won't be, and Washington isn't anything special.

I would easily give that for OJ. The whole "Arians hates TEs" is being WAY overblown, but I love it if lets me get OJ cheap. Arians has never really had much of a receiving threat at TE, except Heath Miller in Pittsburgh and he was great. OJ will be perfectly fine, the history of getting injured the last few years concerns me far more than the Arians factor, and even that doesn't concern me a ton.

I’d do that. I think OJ could be good trade option as well if you want to flip him and a pick for someone else

He started getting cold feet so I had to throw in Elijah McGuire to deal the deal.

Burton and McGuire are desperation flex plays at best. Washington has a bright future but that's cheap for OJ who has top 3 TE potential.

Strong Buy imo. Use the Arians’ nonsense to your advantage. He’s never had a TE with even a third of the talent as OJH. Howard will get his and could be a top 4 TE for the next 5 years.
