Head scratcher trade in my league....

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

No one wants to take a team with little talent and no picks. At the very least, he should pay league dues for 2020 in advance. But this is definitely a very bad trade with no upside.

I don't like trade 2, but its not a team wrecker.
his team was already wrecked before both trades tbh. but yes his 2019 dues are paid we all paid half of 2019 dues upon league start and then anyone who traded 2020 picks must pay full amount.

Yeah I’m curious what he traded CMC, Kielce, and Bell for. The only real addition I see is the 1.09

QB - Kyler Murray, Derek Carr, Kenny Pickett
RB - Christian McCaffrey, Bijan Robinson, Kyren Williams, Travis Etienne, James Conner, Antonio Gibson, Chris Rodriguez

Echoing the previous two posts. The trades in the OP are unquestionably bad but not kick worthy.

I don’t see how he went from that roster with cmc and bell to nothing though
main league, half PPR, all TDs 6, -3 for INT
12 team. 2019 champ, 2020 runner up, ‘21 3rd
start 2SF, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2WRT

WR: JJ, AJB, A Cooper, Juju, C Kirk, J Dotson, N Westbrook-Ikhine, I McKenzie
TE. T Kelce, Pitts, Albert O, D Parham, J O’Shaunessy

Had a scenario like this.. I replaced him after I found a new owner behind the scenes lol... yeah I heard it from a few in the league saying it wasn't kind, but everyone is too soft now a days anwayay lol. Now its water under the bridge and the league is better overall!

Give: 2019 1.02, 2020 (99% chance at being 1.01 at BEST 1.02 the roster is just that bad)
Get: 2019 1.01, 2019 3.01
Over the past few years, save for 2018, when I have owned and wanted to move off of the 1.01 - this is about the price I wanted and got (some of the time). IE 1.01 to 1.02+ another 1st.

I would certainly agree the odds of his future 1st being high appear great. However I have no issues with this trade because like others say if you have a target at 1.01 and really want to ensure you get him, to pay that price is acceptable. Many people, right or wrong also either (a) devalue future 1sts because it is a year+ off, some people value them like a late 1st early 2nd in the current class or (b) feel that they can always buy another pick, or use the next years future to buy into the current class.
playa_hata wrote: Thu Jan 17, 2019 10:36 pm Trade 2

Give: Corey Davis (his only remaining valuable asset besides picks that he just traded away)
Get: Sterling shepard, 2.09
I also have no issues with this deal - if you value WR3 guys with safe floors over potential WR1s who may or may not reach said potential - so be it. Interestingly enough Shepard has actually increased his yardage & Yards per reception for 3 straight years and seen his perceived value decline for 2 straight years.

Why? Because Davis is a prototypical big WR and Shepard is seen more as a typical slot guy. But the NFL keeps showing us (at least in recent years) that slot guys with volume can be productive. We expect Davis target volume to keep increasing & Shepards to remain as is. But what if Davis volume doesnt due to Mariota & Tenn staying Run heavy & Beckham misses games for a 3rd straight year? A year from now Shepard could have easily outproduced or at least equalized Davis in production yet again (difference in their 2018 total production was minimal at best)

Fun fact - Davis will need to outscore Shepard by about 75 points in 2019 just to equal Shepard in total production for a 3 year period.

Now I personally still prefer Davis to Shepard, but I have no issue with an owner who believes in Shepard.

----

Having said all that if you as a Commissioner legitimately believe this owner is a flight risk - aka wont be around long term - and truly worry you'll have difficulty finding a replacement owner without some sort of discount - then yes it is your duty to consider the idea to find a replacement sooner than later.

Based on that, and the progression of his roster, I voted yes on the poll - which was not about the legitimacy of the trades but rather whether the owner in question should remain in the league. I would like, like others, to see the progression of trades - but these two trades in conjunction with the current roster do suggest that the owner is not thinking the logic outlined by some of us on the validity of the trades, but rather is operating the team haphazardly and slowly but surely destroying the value of the roster from a consensus value standpoint.

There is a line between allowing an owner to do as they please with their team, and allowing an owners actions to damage the league by dint of destroying the ability to replace him . It is a line that you need to think long & hard about, and do your best to avoid (a) abusing and (b) doing so out of emotional reaction to an owner making trades with others than yourself, but it is a fair point to consider nonetheless.

I would strongly urge that if you do decide in the end to replace this owner either (a) he be replaced at the end of a season or (b) you have a replacement in hand if need be, and that you make a strong coherent argument backed with evidence of multiple actions that turned decent roster A into dumpster fire B before doing so.

But if the owner has been a long term owner & has shown intent to remain for the long haul (say through 2020 at the very least) then let him lie in the bed they made. I think you will find that at the right time, if he does leave, someone will step up to the challenge, especially if you sell it correctly.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

My real question is what did he get for his CMC and Leveon.
Those 2 trades are bad but both have to pale in comparison to the cmc/bell trades
