Gap Between Cooper and Cook in a Rebuild

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Gap Between Cooper and Cook in a Rebuild

Postby snaps06 » Tue Jan 15, 2019 7:50 pm

If you are in a major rebuild trying to overhaul your roster, who do you take and what is the gap between Amari Cooper and Dalvin Cook?

This would be involving team 1 in my sig where I own Cooper and have an offer for Cook.

You could use the RB, so I'd go with Cook

I’d say they’re almost identical in value, but your RBs blow and Juju/Godwin are good so I’d def go Cook here.

You need the RB help far more then holding Cooper. I value Cook higher then Cooper but I think that is personal choice between these two. Very close value for most I would guess.

Cook would be a bandaid on a severed limb (your rb corps). I would rather have picks in the 2020 where it will be rich in QB's and RB's.

I would tank this year to set up a glorious future. Let your RB position languish. Sell Cooper for 2020's, if a guy has a couple, see if he will add a Coutee or TreQuan Smith to boot.

Go into 2020 with the 1.1, a couple others and fill up your RB holes and get a young QB
Team 1: 16 Team
QB's: Fields, Wentz,
RB: D. Harris, D. Montgomery, Kendre M.
WR: Chase, AJ Brown, Aiyuk, Bateman
TE: Waller, J. Woods, Dulich, Mayer

Team 2: 12 Team SF 1ppr, Start 10
QB: Mahomes, Burrow, Watson
RB: Hall, Walker, Javonte, Pacheco, K Mitchell, Dobbins
WR: Godwin, JSN, Pittman, Pickens, Toney, DP Jones, S Moore
TE: Andrews, Fant, Likely
(2024) 1.03, 2.03, 3.03
(2025) Top 3 1st, my 1st

Team 3 SF, TEP, Start 11 ppr
QB: AR, Watson, Young, Levis
RB: ETN, Walker, Pierce, Akers, Pacheco, Herbert, Warren, Kelley
WR: G. Wilson, Higgins, Godwin, Kirk, Bateman, Collins, Doubs, Chark, Shaheed,
TE: Schultz, I Smith, Bellinger, Parham, Fant, Likely, Granson,

Oh, and for me, the difference between them is owner perception. Meaning they are about equal, it just depends on how each owner feels about them.

That's exactly what I'm planning on doing. I'm already sitting at three 2020 1sts, four 2nds, and three 3rds.

My feeling is I need to keep Cooper because by the time I'm ready to compete (2021-2022) Cook will be on the back end of his career and Cooper will be in his prime still, and I can surround Juju/Cooper with a bunch of young stud RBs. A band-aid on a severed limb is a perfect analogy for Cook and his usefulness to my team haha.
