100% Dalvin. We’ve seen what he can do & it’s pretty damn good. guice hasn’t proved anything at the nfl level yet and coming off multiple knee surgeries

Cook pretty easily imo. He’s shown the high level upside, and is in a much better offense tailored to run(once Stefanski was promoted to OC the Vikings ranked 8th in run %). Even if Guice comes back and is immediately close to 100%, he’s stuck in a crowded backfield with Thompson and AP for another year, while the offense itself is pretty poor.

This is ridiculous. Guice fell in draft because of character issues and injuries. Cook had some injuries but already showed he can handle NFL level work. This poll should be 14-0 Cook.

I'll just reiterate that Cook>Guice pretty easily. Was a higher prospect coming into the league, has receiving upside we haven't seen from Guice yet and we have already seen that Cook is a legit RB when healthy.

what if both guys want the other guy? If you can't choose between guys that play the same position, how have you ever completed a startup?

There are 9 people that voted for Guice, but none of them left a reason why. 🤦‍♂️

Piling on the Cook side. He has already proven he can play and *should* have a better O-line next year.

This , Plus being a .75 PPR league right ? , Cook easy because I don't think Guice is catching more than 20 passes a year.

I didnt get to vote, and I'm not saying i would chose Guice... that said, I think his upside might be higher. He feels like a Zeke clone to me. I think once he heals from the injury, he will be the undisputed bellcow. Now, one might argue that Cook is that for his team. Well, something tells me they dont view him as such and they will bring in a banger to ease his load. Doesnt mean that Cook isnt valuable, but I just feel one might see a path for Guice to have a bigger role than Cook next year and beyond.

Right now Cook is more valuable. However as players I prefer Guice. Im a big fan. Ive dug into him and everything about him and I think long term (after 2019) he will have the more productive career. His ability in the passing game is underrated, and as a pure runner hes excellent.

However 2019 is a big concern due to the offense around him. So whoever is trading away Cook they should get Guice + back.

Okay, I’ll play devil’s advocate and argue for Guice. I’m sure a big part of it is because I spent the 1.02 on him last year and want to see what he can do on the field before I just ship him off. But I also believe he’s a better prospect than Cook and has more of a 3-down bell cow profile.

I despise the “injury prone” label, especially when it pertains to freak accidents like a torn ACL, but if you’re going to hold that against Guice, then it’s at least worth noting that Cook has only appeared in 15 of a possible 32 games thus far in his career. If I’m not mistaken, his main issues this year were soft tissue injuries, which are much more concerning than a freak accident.

Finally, after seeing what a 33 year old AP was able to do this year running behind that Washington O-line, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be excited to see what Guice can do next season, especially considering he’s much more proficient in the passing game.

I don’t fault anyone for preferring Cook, but I think this could be an interesting thread to bump a year from now.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

Totally disagree that Guice won’t catch more than 20 passes a year. Perine had 22 in 2017 and AP had 20 this year. So 20 should be his floor. Add in Guice’s supposedly soft hands and Chris Thompson’s age/injury history and his ceiling in year 2 could be 40-50 catches.

That said, I’d def take the Cook side. While at full health they could be similarly valuable, Cook has already proven he can handle the NFL and is two years removed from his ACL while Guice is only one year removed.

Only arguments I can think of for the Guice side are youth and better o line, but Cook’s receiving prowess and better offense more than compensate.

I like both, but hard for anyone to take Guice here without seeing what he's going to look like in the NFL. Cook's already shown he can be very productive.
