UPDATE: Julio,2020 2nd,Reynolds for Moore and 2019 1st
Considering I have two (maybe three, Cooks is prob more a high end 2 though?) WR1s, does it make sense to trade my pick and Moore for Julio? I am definitely a contender for '19 as it seems most of my starters are in or entering their prime. Was offered this trade by Julio owner.
Edit: Have all my draft picks
Edit 2: Was able to get him to throw in a 2020 mid 2nd and Josh Reyonlds (I own Cooks) and did the deal. Looks like we're going for it all this year

Yeah, in a 12 teamer that deal makes you a serious contender.

Whoops it's actually 10 team, just created my profile/signature this morning. Edited now correctly.
Does that change whether I should make trade?

Re: Julio Jones or DJ Moore/2019 1.06
I’d rather Moore and the 1.06 than Julio’s age 30 season. You’ll still be a contender with Moore at flex. I think he makes a huge jump in year 2 sans Funchess.

I would hold Moore and the pick based on Jones's age but that's just me

I'd be more inclined to keep Moore now that I think about it. Have you thought of trying to acquire Carson? Having Penny, it would lock down that Seattle backfield for another flex option that's highly enticing, being the top rushing team in the league.

I'd trade for Julio. He'll deliver for some years and makes you a real contender for the next 2 years. I traded for Julio (for TY/Ajayi) before last season and never looked back.

Re: Julio Jones or DJ Moore/2019 1.06
I would hold and here is why.
Your team is extremely young and will be competitive for years with or without Julio. I really like what I saw from DJ Moore this year and think there is a real chance that DJ Moore may be worth more than Julio after 2019. There is no doubt in my mind Julio will be a WR1 for the next 2-3 years but after you enjoy that production what can you expect to get out of a 33 year old WR? a early 2nd at the very best IF you manage to trade him before he shows any signs of decline. DJ Moore is a top 15-20 WR at the age of 22 with the chance to become a WR1 in the future. in 2-3 years he will be 25 years old just entering his prime and with be worth a whole lot more than a 33 year old WR.
I say this all the time, the only way to truly create a dynasty is to adopt the Bill Belichick way, which is trade assets before they fall off not acquire them. If you stock up on young 23-25 year old players and then continually trade them when they turn 27-29 while still in their peak for young players then you slowly gain depth and still have the age factor to continue to churn out trades and acquire assets. The Julio owner making this trade offer to you is doing exactly that, tradng away a 30 year old WR for a very high upside youth player that flashed this season and a mid 1st that could become another high upside WR, if one of DJ or the pick pans out then he wins this trade and if both do then he really sets himself up nicely.

I really appreciate the well-thought out reply. Any players you think I should be looking to sell/buy? The other guy mentioned Chris Carson. Would you sell Baker and a pick to a QB-needy team for him?Titans95 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 11:47 am I would hold and here is why.

If you can move martin/thompson/moncrief for anything I would do that, seem like definition of roster cloggers to me.throwaway1604 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 11:57 amI really appreciate the well-thought out reply. I get the Carson appeal for Penny owners and don't fault anyone for making that move but as a Penny owner myself I am going to avoid Carson. He was RB 16 in ppg in ppr formats and he was the clear workhorse on that team. In 2019 in an ideal world Penny will get the keys to the kingdom but likely what will happen is a much more even split of carries between him and Carson making both less fantasy relevant unless one gets injured. I'd rather not pay up for Carson and hope Penny wins the job or that he's the one that doesn't get hurt.
Re: Julio Jones or DJ Moore/2019 1.06
You probably would have gotten much of this same advice a few months ago. It was wrong then and wrong now. Make the trade for Julio. This is a dirt cheap price for an elite WR.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.
Re: Julio Jones or DJ Moore/2019 1.06
Julio is going to produce WR1 numbers for some years to come. Age 30 isn't his death sentence. I really like Moore too but that pick wouldn't close the gap for me.
I get you have 3 great WR as it stands, but you have 3 spots to start each AND still 2 flex. You would upgrade Moore to Julio for a dart throw. If it were standard 2 WR and a flex, I'd stay put with the youth and pick. This trade would make your WR core insane
Make. This. Trade. And. Thank. Me. Next. Year. When. You. Win. The. Ship.

That package is a starter to get you into the conversation for basically any player you want. You are a contender with or without Julio. No way I make that deal and no way I trade Baker+ for Chris Carson

And if you are as desperate as these guys to win 1 title then you can deal for Julio cheaper at the deadline next year
