Mahomes value - 1 QB league

With OP roster, I'm probably just holding him. No way i would want Dak starting each week and the rest of your roster is fine. Why sell?

As the OP, I'm probably leaning this way. This being a salary cap league ($200 cap), Mahomes value will rise from $5 to $20. And my elite players like Gordon, Hopkins and Allen are reaching their cap limits. There are several cuts to be made and the original point of the post was to guage what tier of player I should target if I consider trading him.

in our league Mahomes has 632 points. Next is Ryan at 507(so Mahomes is 25% higher) and 10th highest is more than 200 points behind. Clearly a difference maker this yr. Can he continue? Well JuJu is not a difference maker yet. Not Elite. IS a high tier. But I keep Mahomes. I have JuJu and if I could get Mahomes for that, I would do it. I know it won't happen.

For reference Gurley was only 51 points ahead of Barkley (#2), but once past Zeke and CMC, there is a big drop off. But Mahomes has that difference against everyone, not just 8 teams, assuming 12 team and those players are not on same team. Wr is even tighter.

So if I was trading Mahomes I need one of those 4 RB's minimum. Not giving up HUGE difference in points. So if you could sell him now, it may be SELL AT THE HIGH.

I have him in a 3-keeper redraft league with 6-point TDs, plus bonuses for TD passes of 40+ and 50+ yards and for games of 300+ and 400+ passing yards, and even under those settings, he’s “only” at 501 points.

I would hold. He is way too big of a difference maker vs other qbs. I am not trading him away for a wr outside the top 5ish ( I play non ppr ) because you can play match ups with other WRs. RBs are different, I wouldnt take Lindsay, but I would be willing to trade if I liked it...but this all depends on your scoring..

I get the whole argument about QB value in 1QB leagues, but in Mahomes' case I think longevity has to be considered as well. Not only is he significantly outperforming nearly every other QB in the league, he is very young and represents a set-it-and-forget-it option at QB for years to come. Yes, I also think he will come back down to earth next season, but even with a significant increase in INTs he is still going to be an elite QB in that offense with so many weapons. I only own him in one league and would have to be completely blown away to even consider moving him. JuJu wouldn't do it for me, even if absolute value might say otherwise.

TDs are quite volatile and he's obviously not going to challenge the all-time record every year, but I'll put my money that he's in the mix near the top of the league more often than not. Moreover, I definitely don't see his yardage production decreasing any time soon. I'd bet dollars to donuts he's going to give you 300/game, at least until KC gets something resembling a defense on the field, and even then it's not like he's gonna drop off too much. KC is going to be the Colts from the mid 00s. They're just going to add weapons every year and put it all on the QB.

I agree with this, I also think their offensive scheme is more fullproof than the saints and Rams. I'd love to see how the chiefs hold up against the Bears defense in the playoffs.

I traded Mahomes ($10) for Goff ($2) and Chubb ($8) a day before the Carlos Hyde trade in a one-QB half PPR 4-keeper league with 10% salary increases for first two years and $5 increases from year 3 on. What do you guys think of that trade?

In my league, 100 points better than next best player. Not saying I won't trade him, but at 22, under Reid, he is set and forget except one week a year, 30 points. I will hold for now, see what regression happens next year, and then consider trading. Mahomes and Chubb got me in the finals this year. I will tolerate the regression to try and establish a baseline for Mahomes.

Guice is behind SB, I'm gonna BOLD and say behind Lindsay and KJ, so i doubt he is worth or going for 2 first!

In terms of this year's draft though... 1.05 last year might be a better pick than 1.01 this year. A lot of people have argued they'd take Guice with the 1.01 this year . Also, Landry and Golladay are both good WR that you could only hope a early round Rookie WR would turn into.

I wouldn't call those players worth less than 2 random late 1sts but I get that may have been hyperbolic. I wouldn't take any of those guys for Mahomes either. Honestly 3 or 4 late 1sts would he pointless in trading Mahomes for, especially with this year's class
