Can we talk about Amari Cooper?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Can we talk about Amari Cooper?

Postby hudini33 » Sun Dec 09, 2018 9:24 pm

So I have been a Cooper believer since his rookie year. I traded for him this offseason. But didn't get much out of him until he moved to Dallas. But now, as a Cowboy, hes been a consistent starter for me. So my question is this: What is his long term value? Can we expect this consistency past this year?

Cooper is an elite route runner with elite speed, agility and has a history or production. He has had his ups and downs, but he's found his stride. I think as long as Zeke is there, he's going to be pretty consistent. I am one of the biggest Cooper supporters around here, though so take it with a grain of salt.

i was not a buyer at his price 2 years ago, but his price dropped so much that i got one share (wish i would have made more offers)
this season 2 weeks before he found his way to Dallas...i gave John Brown and got Cooper and 3rd...i am quite happy...
now, his price is probably too high for me again...but we shall see...

i finally got to watch a couple games, and i like what i see, so maybe i will send out some offers after the season

I've always had him at a top 24 startup price, and he should be again next year.

Now that he's been traded to the NFC, Im forced to trade him away in my AFC vs NFC dynasty league. It sucks to lose him.
To your question about value though, he's young, productive, and on a team that really seems to value him. I'll be looking for a big haul.

Thanks for the responses! I just wanted to get a feel for how the community was starting to view him now

I'm still skeptical but he's definitely taking a step in the right direction. I've always found his value to be too high because of name value and its probably too high for my liking right now. I'd rather have Golladay/Corey Davis/DJ Moore/Jarvis/Courtland Sutton/Allen Robinson at their respective price value vs Cooper's. I've said it all year that if you go and really take a look at Cooper's blowup games and his disappearing games there is a pretty common factor. Good CB's vs bad CB's. I can't deny Cooper's route running or speed but for some reason he seems to struggle against the top corners in the league much more so than other top WR's. He's getting used better in Dallas so if he can finish the year and playoffs consistently doing well against the better defenses coming up then I might hop on board but until then I'm still staying away. Lets keep in perspective that Philly has the worst secondary in the NFL with all their injuries at this point.
