Rate my trade:D. Adams, M Gordon, and late 1st for Barkley and early 2nd

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rate my trade:D. Adams, M Gordon, and late 1st for Barkley and early 2nd

Postby mabeibefunny » Thu Nov 29, 2018 12:12 pm

For another league, .5 ppr, 12 teams, 8 player keeper, I am tied for first place but just lost Gordon this week with the MCL sprian. What do you think of my trade:

Gordon, D. Adams, and my 1st (I have a bye and tied for best record, so will likely be very late)

For

Barkley and his early 2nd (he is the worst team in the league)

To me, this is effectively dropping 2-3 spots in the draft between the 1st and 2nd, I'm a huge NYG fan, and need RB badly to make it into playoffs. My team after the trade

QB: Mariota, Lamar Jackson
RB: Barkley, Peterson, Freeman, Burkhead(NEP), and Jackson(LAC)
WR: Julio, Boyd, Lockett, Sanders, Corey Davis, Moncrief
TE: Ertz, Doyle, Njoku
Team 1:
10-Team League
.5 PPR, Full IDPs, only 7 players allowed per position
1QB/2RB/2WR/1FLX/1TE/2LB/2DL/2DB/2DP/1K

QB: Rodgers, Newton, Danny Dimes
RB: Gurley, Henry, Freeman, T. Coleman, AP, Ekeler, Malcolm Brown, Justin Jackson
WR: Evans, Thielen, Woods, Allen Robinson, Shepard, Cobb, JJAW, Mecole Hardman, Renfrow, Gage
TE: Ertz, Mark Andrews, Jarwin

Barkley is my #1 overall player in dynasty, so I like it honestly. The picks are about a wash, and you have to give up something significant for Barkley which Adams + Gordon definitely is, but I think ultimately it's worth it. Probably going to get some differing opinions, but that's mine.

I think it's too much, I have Barkley as my #1 overall player BUT he's still in the same tier as Adams who is a top tier WR at this point. On top of that MG3 is a top 10 RB moving forward to next year seems like a lot to give up to go up within the same tier of player

Gordon and Adams is too much for Barkley. And a 1st is still worth more than a 2nd, even if the difference ends up being 3 spots. I'm also not sure your team got that much better. You swapped Gordon with Barkley which is great, but lost Adams and have to rely on Boyd as your WR2.

I believe this is Barkley's "down year" with a crappy o-line and qb. So Barkley side Great trade!

I think it's a little too much. I think the difference between Gordon and Barkley is a little less than Adams. But on the other hand, that's probably what it will take to get Barkley from his owners. So if Barkley helps you win the ship this year, then it's worth it.

I think you gave too much - Adams and Gordon for Barkley is an overpay but something I could live with if I really like Barkley but throwing a 1 on top is unnecessary.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Also to keep in mind, this is our last week of reg season in our league, if Gordon is out multiple weeks I'd have to roll out Peterson as my RB1 for playoffs... so I also factored a bit of a premium for getting Barkley when I really needed him/a RB.

Hopefully, that helps to make it a bit closer for those of you who thought I might have overpaid. It sounds like people are on both sides of the fence, which usually leads me to think it was a pretty fair/close trade. Thanks!
