Awful trade

3-9 team gave: Christian McCaffery

9-3 team already had Gurley and Hunt at rb. 3-9 team already had Mayfield and Dak at QB.

12 team, full PPR, 1QB

I’m also 9-3, and pretty upset about it. Feels League-shifting bad. There isn’t much to do about it except complain on the forums, but wanted to put it out there for validation

Update on this: so the owner who sent CMC sent out an email soon after saying that it was a mistaken offer and he hadn't included everything. Most of the league wants it reversed because of this. In the past, in other leagues where this has happened, the owners have always just reversed the trade themselves, but in this case, the new CMC owner is basically saying too bad, and we're all just upset because he's created a dynasty and we don't think we can beat him.

Curious how others would handle a situation like this.

This trade is a reflection of why the 3-9 owner is in fact, 3-9. In no way shape or form is Goff anywhere near CMC in 1QB. Now, 2QB or SF is a different story.

I will say this though - You shouldn't mention how upset about the trade you are. You're going to get blasted on this forum for it, just the way the community is.

Pretty upset you didnt make the trade first?

Someone in my league sent Jordan Reed and got Keelan Allen. I was bitter I didn't make a similar offer first, but there was no collusion so not much to do besides try to improve the person who sent/accepted the bad offer. If there is no collusion, there isn't much anyone should ever do.

There are seemingly a few bad / incompetent owners in most leagues. The big trick is to spot them before your league mates do. The trade is horrible yes. It sucks and yes it is very frustrating. Ya gotta ask yourself, are you a shark or a minnow.

I'm curious how trades like this even happen. Who approached who? Was there any negotiating? We'll probably never know, but just seems odd that deals like this happen so frequently. Only explanation would be owners who are not only new to dynasty, but new to fantasy.

People will tell you to quit whining that you didn't make the trade but they would be wrong. Those kind of trades can torpedo a league if that guy wins this year, next year, and the next year its going to turn a lot of people off. I personally will message the owner of the bad trade and let them know how poor of a trade I think it is if its something that atrocious.

This is a trade that could definitely be collusion. I would do my best to investigate, but odds are you have no way of proving it. Check their bio and see if they're from the same town or something. If you can't prove it, just remember this for the future and move on
