Gus Edwards for J. McKinnon

Postby Hollywood » Wed Nov 21, 2018 3:33 pm

I have been sitting on Jerick McKinnon all year. The player that Gus Edwards just offered me a trade.

Would you rather have McKinnon or Edwards?

I am not sure I Edwards will continue to get as many carries as he did on Sunday.
But not sure we know what McKinnon's role will be when he comes back next year.

I think mckinnon will have the role of an 8 million dollar back. I expect a freeman coleman backfield look. Give me mckinkon

Haha. Well, I guess when you compare it to 0 good games...? :ewink:

McKinnon's 3.8ypc average has always scared me and I thought going into the year Breida would be the better back so I guess I'm trying to rationalize a reason to get rid of him!

But to your point, I think people were definitely caught off by Baltimore's offense on Sunday so doubt that success will be repeated by the quarterback or running back!

I agree with most of this, but they play the Raiders on Sunday, so likely, they’ll have a decent encore.

That said, I don’t know if Gus is any good, but I know that McKinnon isn’t. That said, I’d see what picks I could get the Gus owner to throw in and if you could add picks, I think that’s a good deal.
Team 1

QB- Carr, Mac
RB- Kamara, Patterson, Swift, Ingram, Foreman, Breida
WR- M Thomas, Metcalf, Keenan, Bourne, AB, Waddle, Green, D-Jax, Landry, St. Brown
TE- Waller, Hockenson
K- Tucker
D- Miami
Start: QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, TE, WR/RB, WR/TE, K, D

I'm here as well. McKinnon would likely be more suited as a COP or 3rd down back like he was in MIN. He was abysmal as the starter there. I dont think Breida is the unquestioned starter though.

Anyway... if you're trading McKinnon, I guarantee you can get more than Gus. Hell, go trade him for Crowell or Ekeler or Carson. I'm sure one of those types of RBs owners will bite

McKinnon pretty easily for me and I've been very low on him even before he got injured.

I'm not saying the ADP was correct but McKinnon was going in the back of the 2nd round in redraft leagues this year as a top 10 back because of the hype he was getting going into Shanahans offense, the hype wasn't that he was going to be some bell cow back but be a top receiving back like CMC/Kamara and get 200-220 carries - similar usage that Devonta Freeman was getting when Shanahan was the OC. What has changed? Breida has always been in the equation and will be a solid compliment to McKinnon.

Are we so short sighted we think an UDFA who had 1 good game against one of the worst rushing defenses is worth the same as McKinnon and his 8 Million dollar salary or his top 17 finish in 2017 in a committee role for the vikings?

I'm not even that high on McKinnon and thought he was overvalued in redraft but come on people....
