Mini Rebuild

Postby EAGLES » Sat Nov 17, 2018 4:28 pm

My team is falling out of contention (4-6) due to my RBs being injured the majority of the year/out for the season. What would you want for Brees from a contender in a SuperFlex league?

In talks with another owner who is offering up Carr (he also has Winston) along with a low end RB (RoJo). Thoughts?

Torn on whether or not to roll the dice on Brees and see if he returns next year and hope my team can compete when my RBs are healthy.

1 QB 2 RB 3 WR 1 TE 1 Flex 1 SuperFlex
12 Team - 28 Roster Slots - 1 PPR - TE Premium (1.5)

QB - Watson / Brees / Smith / Kessler / Barrett
RB - Fournette / Freeman / L. Murray / Mostert / Blount / Gallman / Turbin / Jamaal
WR - OBJ / AJG / Landry / Godwin / Geronimo/ Dorsett / Grant / Robby A / Rishard / JMatt / JJ Nelson / Deonte / Kumerow (IR)
TE - Doyle / Boyle / Vernon / Virgil
2019 Picks - 3rd, 4th

Winston/RoJo should be a nice return for brees. Winston's value is at an all time low but he's still 25 and will bounce back. RoJo I've never been a fan of be he still have some unseen potential

I think Carr (he’s better than Winston as he’s struggling due to a horrible supporting cast around him, Winston is just terrible, as he has lots of weapons) & RoJo is a nice start, but I’d get a pick or 2 thrown in, but if I’m going to do that, I’d try to move AJG too.
Team 1

QB- Carr, Mac
RB- Kamara, Patterson, Swift, Ingram, Foreman, Breida
WR- M Thomas, Metcalf, Keenan, Bourne, AB, Waddle, Green, D-Jax, Landry, St. Brown
TE- Waller, Hockenson
K- Tucker
D- Miami
Start: QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, TE, WR/RB, WR/TE, K, D

I agree with this. Not a big fan of either QB and think Carr won’t be relevant for quite some time due to what’s going on in Oakland. But I’d prefer Carr over the QB that was benched mid year. I am trying to move AJG as well for upside RB/WR package.

I dont love either QB either but getting a QB in return for Brees in SF would be solid along with a young RB. Although I hate RoJo too haha

I think it's a good idea but with other names involved would be more interesting

I don't love the return. I do like the idea of moving Brees to a contender this year, just not that specific return.

The return is not very solid. I think in a superflex league, you should be able to get way more for Brees

I agree. I know Brees is close to retiring, but I still feel he’s worth a good return in a SuperFlex league. I’ve received a couple of offers for him, but none that excite me.

Contender wants to move their late 2019 1st straight up which I think is light. The above offers from a contender. And then another offer of a package of 3rds with Josh Allen.

Eh, if Brees most likely helps a team win a championship, I want more than a subpar QB such as Carr/Winston + RoJo (who I don't like at all either).

I sold Big Ben for a top 3 pick earlier this season (owner for some reason thought he was a contender. In my post way back when it happened, I did note that it would be a high first as I was confident in his team faltering). At that time I was told that that was selling low.

So you need to get back a HIGH first +, based on feedback I received on Big Ben. Carr/Winston aren't even starting material at this stage...
12 TEAM SUPERFLEX, TE Premium, 25 man rosters
QB - | Rodgers | Herbert | Mills
RB - CMC | Chubb | Dobbins | Keaontay Ingram
WR - McLaurin | Deebo | Waddle | Gabriel Davis | Elijah Moore | Mooney | C Ridley | Jameson Williams | Pickens | Alec Pierce | Wan'dale Robinson | Justyn Ross | B Edwards
TE - M Andrews | Friermuth

2023 Picks: 1st round(2), 2nd round(2), 3rd round (2)

Winston is benched because he has an injury clause....the only way TB HAS to pay him (20 milllion i think) is if he gets injured....because of this, i am sure he will not be a Buc next season
i think Carr and Winston are pretty equal, i would probably choose Carr, but it is close
i still like RoJo, but his value is at an all time low
if you can get a 2nd added to the deal, i would take it
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
Kelce, Andrews, Jacob Harris

I think you all may be confusing real NFL with Fantasy. Winston has been a relevant fantasy producer since entering the league, Carr had one good year and thats it. Also like you all said Winston has a solid supporting cast and Carr does not. How long will it take for that to change in Oakland? Also Winston has been benched for 2 reasons, the injury clause and the fact that Ole Dirk is in complete desperation mode to win since he knows he's losing his job this season. Winston has been a yardage monster and scores a decent amount as well. Turnovers aren't ideal but its worse for real football than fantasy scoring.

For the next 2 years (after this year) Brees is the better QB. I'd just stick with him since I don't like the return at all.
