Huge OBJ Trade Offers: Which one? (POLL)
Huge OBJ Trade Offers: Which one? (POLL)
Hey all,
Trade Completed: See below - thanks for the advice!
This is a continuation of a previous thread. I'm rebuilding(team in my signature) and have been shopping OBJ to see what I can get for him. Offers have increased from both parties for OBJ (both are competing, likely against one another for the championship. Arms race situation ).
Which of these deals would you take? I'm leaning towards the Juju/Kupp side, as I like WR talent on the front end of a rebuild. It also comes with two extra firsts for next year, although both will likely be mid-late.
However, Guice/Chubb could both be legit and that would give me really solid RB depth.
Also, to be clear, there are other pieces included in the trades (full offers below), but, none that I value highly. What would you do in my situation?
Offer 1
Give: OBJ, J. Howard, 2019 2nd
Get: Juju, C. Kupp, 2x 2019 1st (both mid-late), 1x 2020 1st
Offer 2
Give: OBJ, J. Howard, D. Foreman
Get: Guice, Chubb, Golladay, 2019 2nd(early), 2020 1st, 2020 2nd, 2021 1st

Re: Huge OBJ Trade Offers: Which one? (POLL)
I like Guice/Chubb/Golladay a lot better than Juju/Kupp. Those 2019 1sts don't appeal to me much with the weak class, so that makes me lean towards the Guice package as well.
I'm assuming your keepers would be:
Bell
Johnson
Guice
Chubb
Golladay
Ridley
Davis
Williams
That's a really strong core, and you can sell Anthony Miller for a second, or maybe even late first. I would hop all over that deal in a rebuild. Then come 2020 you have at least 2 firsts in a loaded class. You'll be stacked after that

Either trade is a major get for OBJ. I would lean towards the 2nd offer. It give you 3 build around pieces and currency in 2 drafts in the future, which also gives you flexibility to trade for a stud once the rebuild is complete.

Piling on the Guice side. Once Lev Bell signs somewhere this offseason flip him for a young WR. Plus the picks and you're set up nicely for the future.
Also if you want to rebuild with WRs you can trade Chubb and Guice for WRs in the Juju tier pretty easily.

More like the Chubb side, he's the best RB in the deal. I like the the side with the RB's and Golloday.

Re: Huge OBJ Trade Offers: Which one? (POLL)
Wow, so far this heavily favors the Guice/Chubb side. I don't think I expected it to be such a favorite. Glad I asked!
This is a different issue, but, how do you allow "health of the league" to play into your decisions regarding trades?
The guy offering Guice/Chubb is currently dominating our league with a core of Gurley, Zeke, and D. Hopkins. I'm concerned that giving him OBJ might put his team in a position to continue crushing the opposition for the next few years, which could frustrate the rest of the league.
However, I also feel like he should, in theory, be able to flip Guice + Chubb for a stud WR next year anyway. This way, at least he'd be overpaying to ensure a championship win and it would cost him a lot of RB depth + most of his picks over the next couple years.
Thoughts?

You're team shouldn't think this compromised the health of the league, its a good fair trade that benefits both sides.Dominus wrote: ↑Fri Nov 16, 2018 1:58 pm Wow, so far this heavily favors the Guice/Chubb side. I don't think I expected it to be such a favorite. Glad I asked!

I would never worry about "helping" another team. Does it benefit your team? Is the value fair? Ok then go with it. A trade is theoretically supposed to help both teams, not one while the other bends over and takes it.
Re: Huge OBJ Trade Offers: Which one? (POLL)
I like both. Remove Howard from your side and go with the owner who takes it.

Don't worry about this. If the trade helps your team, do it. Worry about the dominant team laterDominus wrote: ↑Fri Nov 16, 2018 1:58 pm Wow, so far this heavily favors the Guice/Chubb side. I don't think I expected it to be such a favorite. Glad I asked!

Re: Huge OBJ Trade Offers: Which one? (POLL)
I like both offers, but I’d go w/ the Chubb offer. I like the picks, but they’re likely not translating to RBs next year, so the second offer would get the rebuild completed faster in my opinion, but you can’t go wrong with either offer.

WR- M Thomas, Metcalf, Keenan, Bourne, AB, Waddle, Green, D-Jax, Landry, St. Brown

Trade Completed
Thanks for all the advice!
I continued negotiating and ended up taking the following Juju/Kupp offer:
Give: OBJ, D. Foreman
Get: Juju, C. Kupp, 2019 1st (early), 2019 1st (mid), 2020 1st, 2020 2nd
Ultimately, he was willing to drop the 2nd and Howard from my side and added a 2020 2nd. There's a high likelihood that the early 1st becomes the 1.01 as well.
Very happy with the end result. Now I just hope that Juju continues to grow!
