Trading 2019 1st for 2020 1st

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trading 2019 1st for 2020 1st

Postby Ewilliams29 » Tue Nov 13, 2018 12:02 pm

Had A guy ask me about trading my 2020 1st for his 2019 1st. I haven't looked much at the draft classes or follow college ball that closely. Is there much upside to getting the 2019. Im in need of running backs. And what would be the difference value for doing a trade like that.

Any insight on some of the players would be great for those top end players for each year.

Thanks

probably depends on team need. 2019 looks to be very defense heavy with some decent WRs. 2020 appears to be similar to this past year with some good RBs and quality QBs projected to come out.

8 Team - 2QB/SF/4RB/4WR/2TE
Q: Herbert/Kyler/AR/Carr/Baker/Hooker
R: Bijan/DCook/AJones/Dobbins/White/Bigsby/Roschon
W: GWilson/Olave/Hollywood/Burks/Dotson/Jameson/Pickens/Skyy/WanDale
T: Andrews, Goedert, Gesicki, Henry, Bellinger, Likely, Schoonmaker

If you need RBs then you want to keep your 2020 pick.

I'm assuming that the pick projections are fairly similar? If you're a title contender and the 2019 is super early, then that changes everything.

Unless you think your 2020 1st is a lock to be early, I'd absolutely take his 2019 1st. I have no idea why he wants to do that, but you always want the earlier pick. You can get fantasy production or an increase in trade value sooner rather than later. No one knows for sure who will declare and who won't, and even then there could be injuries to the top guys and/or new college players who shoot up the rankings.

do you want an egg today, or a slightly bigger (maybe!) egg one year from now?

His 2019th would be 8th-12th overall. 2020 up in the air for where I land but would think it would be 4-8 if that makes a difference.

I own 3 2019 firsts, and 2 seconds, and want to move one of the firsts for a first in 2020.

The reason he is probably asking is because the QB's (mainly Tua) and RB's look much more appealing in 2020. This 2019 QB & RB class is extremely weak, while being WR heavy.

That's my logic at least. I do think though, that moving up in the current draft in exchange for a future pick should cost him. What that price should be, idk.
