Davante Adams Advice

Postby Hambone72 » Thu Nov 01, 2018 9:32 am

I am in the midst of a major rebuild. I'm getting a lot of love for Davante Adams. This is for Team 1 in mi sig.

I have been offered Aaron Rodgers and TY Hilton for Adams
I have also been offered TY Hilton, 1st (mid to late 1st), and a 2nd

These are the two best offers so far, but of course im taking my time.

In my position is Adams someone I should sell to get more picks or should I hold and keep my core of yound, even if slightly underwhelming receivers in Adams, Landry, Watkins, and Coutee (who I think will be a solid piece)

What would you do in my position. My TE and RB situations are fairly bleak. My QB situation isn't the worst but it's a mess. Some how I've managed a 4-5 Record, making it near impossible to get the top pick with one of my picks. There's another team that's god awful at 2-7. We play a yearly double header which was in week 2 this year.

I think the TY ARod is a decent offer. If you make that deal I’d instantly be looking to move TY for youth / picks to a contender.

I wouldn't sell for either of those offers. Especially the first one. Makes no sense if you're rebuilding and you might want to remind your trade partner of that so he stops offering older players.

Both look like decent value but not really helping a rebuild, I'd put out feelers to see if can trade those players for youth/picks

I'd pass on both. Getting TY doesn't make sense for a rebuild.

Pass on both. Adams is 25 and a top 5 WR at the moment. Why trade that for a Qb in a 1 QB league and a an aging receiver that so far has underwhelmed this year? IF you are going to move adams it should be for big haul of youth players like a top young TE, a top rookie RB, a top rookie Wr and a late 1st or something along those lines. Just because you're rebuilding doesn't mean you have to trade players. Only trade them for the right price. Adams is also the perfect WR to build a team around so if you don't get an offer that blows you away that is just fine you have a top 5 WR for the next 5 years you can depend on

Both are easy rejects for Adams.

I gave up 3 2020 1sts, 2 2020 2nd, 1 2021 1st and 1 2021 2nd for Adams and Derrick Henry at the beginning of the season for team 2 in my sig.. And would definitely have to pay more than that now. Adams is a young top 5 WR for years to come. Don't sell for anything less than an huge overpay. He's the type of player you want to collect in a rebuild not trade away.

Wow that’s a lot! But you bought at Henry’s peak. I just paid 2 2019 firsts and 2 2019 seconds for Devonte. Both seconds are early. So I gave up 4 of the first 16 picks. That’s the kind of return you need to rebuild.

this right here... why would you sell a WR like Adams who is top 5 and is in his prime, for an aging QB and WR who is near the end, while in the middle of a rebuild?

Not good offers for a rebuild, either have them adjust their offers to reflect that or just hold Adams. You should be able to build around him if need be.

TE - Kelce, J. Ferguson

easy reject. I am holding Adams unless I am blown away. Young rising WR is someone to build around. If you want a QB coming back I would want someone like Mahomes or Watson Plus more young pieces/Picks. WR1 is worth more than QB1.
