Orphan Takeover

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Orphan Takeover

Postby slaughterrt » Tue Oct 23, 2018 6:26 pm

Just took over a project in a 12 Team PPR superflex with IDP. So far team has one win on the year but has some solid pieces to build around.

Start
QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/TE/Flex/SFlex
DL/DL/LB/LB/DB/DB/DFlex/DFlex

QB: Watson, Keenum

RB: Zeke, Le’Veon, Drake, Adrian Peterson, Blount, Blue, Morris, Charc West, Scarbrough

WR: Ridley, Larry Fitz, Beasley, Edelman, Amendola, Ginn, Martavis, Josh Reynolds, BMarsh, JMac

TE: Kelce, Engram, Gates

K: Gould, Hopkins

DL: Aaron Donald, Kawaan Short, David Irving, MoWilk

LB: Brad Chubb, Suggs, Navarro, Mason Foster, Malcolm Smith, Nick Perry

DB: Mathieu, J McCourty, TreDavious White, Jourdan Lewis, Trumaine, Amerson

2019 Picks: 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 7
2020 Picks: 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

So what does everyone think? Being 1-6 and tied with the worst record, I think it’s safe to say that a rebuild is in order. Previous owner set me up by acquiring some extra draft capital (instead of the usual trade away all future assets).

Top priorities are:
Sell Brady/Keenum for either younger players and/or picks.
Sell Adrian Peterson/Blount/Morris for basically anything and drop West/Vereen.
Sell any and all WRs except Ridley for basically anything.
Sell/drop Gates. Maybe sell high on Kelce if the return is high enough.
Sell whatever IDP I can to build up more draft capital.

Acquiring picks/prospects is my goal.

Any suggestions/comments? And feel free to follow along.

I think you should try to move Bell to a contender after he gets back. Gets some you WR talent and a draft pick back or even a young qb+... as you said sell everywhere else for as much as you can get.

Today was a pretty solid day. Made some deals and made some cuts.

Dealt away Tom Brady for a 2019 1st. If I had to guess, j would say that the pick ends up in the 1.08-1.10 range. I had a few trades floating out there that involved Brady as part of larger trades but couldn’t get anything done. It being a superflex, I was hoping I could get a 1st or a young QB prospect. At the same time, it is a 12 teamer, so there are enough to go around (to an extent). I’m happy with my return and look forward to drafting a QB or WR (although it’s still early).

Dealt away RB James White for a 2019 1st (I expect it to be a late one - likely 1.10-1.12). I was approached by a win-now team with a need for a currently-producing RB. White has been tearing it up and is still only 26 years old. Even though White is (was) my highest scoring RB, I knew the value was too good to pass up.

Also trimmed the fat and cut WRs Brandon Coleman and Brice Butler, and RB Shane Vereen.

Productive day and definitely jump starting my rebuild by gaining two future 1sts and clearing some roster space.

I like the moves so far for you. You are loaded with draft picks in the upcoming draft. I’m selling off anyone possible for high end youth or picks. Maybe look to the Guice owner, but low, possibly the Cook, Cooper owners and take a chance on them. I’m selling everyone off and building around Ridley and Zeke. I’m selling Kelce and Bell for the right price also.

Yep, ideally I would like to build around Watson, Zeke, Ridley, and Engram, but honestly no one is off the table if someone is seriously interested.

In the past few days I have made some moves.

Traded away aging Edelman for Nelson Agholor.
Also traded away Adrian Peterson for a 2019 3rd.

Added a bunch of younger offense and IDP off waivers.
