Hyde for McKinnon - should I even try

Postby Wizard » Sun Oct 21, 2018 10:01 pm

The manager that owns Fournett also owns McKinnon and I'm trying to collect RBs for next season hoping one turns into a stud. I'm not all that high on McKinnon but I need a stud RB and nobody will part with any. What do you think about offering Hyde for McKinnon? Is McKinnon worth Hyde?
QB -Tom Brady, Nick Foles Deshaun Watson

RB - Kenyan Drake, Darrius Guise, Tevin Coleman, Leonard Fournett, Kareem Hunt, Justin Jackson, Jaylen Samuels, Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson Jr., Jordan Wilkins, CJ Anderson, Chris Warren,

WR - Davante Adams , T.Y. Hilton, Courtland Sutton, Devin Funchess, Doug Baldwin, Michael Crabtree, Antonio Callaway, J’Mon Moore, Dylan Cantrell, Keith Kirkwood, James Richie

Tough to say. I own McKinnon, but I'd probably trade him for Hyde at this point to be honest. Hyde is a known, McKinnon is an unknown. Will he even be playing for SF next year? If you are willing to take the risk, I say go for it. I'm competing, so I'd rather have Hyde now. I doubt the Hyde owner in my league would trade him for McKinnon though.

Two weeks ago I would have said no because I don't have faith in McKinnon. Today I'd say it's probably the best you'll get because Hydes value took a nose dive when he got traded to a team whose franchise player is another RB.

Hyde's not really a known anymore now that he's been traded to Jacksonville, though. I'm not even sure how much value Hyde gives to a contender...LF should be back for the playoffs and then Hyde isn't really startable. I'd rather have McKinnon.

If you're looking for a stud, why are you going after McKinnon? As far as the trade, I guess it's fair. I might lean towards McKinnon on the hopes that he is the starter in SF next year, but I'm not convinced that will happen. Probably still a higher probability than Hyde being a starter somewhere.

Is LF going to be back for the playoffs? He's been hurt all year, and then they go out and trade for Hyde. I'm not convinced Fournette will be back, or that he won't get hurt again.

The odds that McKinnon return this year are zero. I don't even think the odds are great that he's the starter in SF next year.

So I'll take Hyde over nothing if I am competing this season and need some RB help.

It's not like LF's suffered a bunch of different injuries...it's one injury that is taking a while to heal and he aggravated it after coming back too soon. I'd be surprised if he's still out from the hamstring in week 13. And Hyde isn't much better than nothing considering that you can't reliably start him, especially if LF is healthy.
