John Brown or John Ross?

Was offered John Brown and a 5th for John Ross so essentially just 1 for 1 straight up. Its for the team in my Sig 2 I almost accepted immediately but I'm never going to start Brown I feel unless I'm devestated by injuries or he gets back to his pace a couple weeks ago and John Ross has the higher ceiling. I also already have Boyd and I feel at least 1 of the 2 will be valuable. Thoughts?

Brown for me. He's great depth to have down the stretch, and I don't think his ceiling is any lower than Ross'.
I'm not dumping Ross yet, but I think Brown has a chance to be very productive this year and could still find himself in a nice spot next season. I could definitely see a situation where you are playing him in that week 14 KC matchup over anyone but Adams on your roster.

Since he came to you and you seem to like Ross, why not ask for a bit higher pick?

if by "ceiling" you mean "top speed"... (and not by much)
between Boyd and Ross the valuable one seems pretty clear.
Ross can still improve, but he's actually trending in the wrong direction.

I'd say that if he gets lucky, he could become a John Brown, so I'll have John Brown.
of course, since it was the other owner offering the trade, I'd ask for a 3rd rounder and settle for a 4th.

your arguments for Brown are valid for Ross too, unless you think he'll become better than A.J.
also, Brown is much more appealing for trades at the moment so you can flip him for something else.

Brown is finally figuring it out, but he's also already 28. If you're never going to start him, I don't see the appeal unless you can flip him for something better. But if he's just going to sit on your bench, I'd probably rather take my chances with Ross, even if I'm low on him.

I’d go Brown. Even if you don’t want him seems like you could flip him for more than Ross. I could be wrong on my market evaluation of the two though

Brown if you are a contender. Ross if you are playing the long game and rebuilding. In a vacuum, I'll take Brown.
