Rate this awful trade

i would choose the side with the first, but i don't think it is that awful...i actually like Winston and agree that if he stays healthy and out of trouble, he will be a good/great starting QB...i don't know what other QB the owner getting Winston has, but his QB is aging (Brees, Brady, Ryan, Rivers) then i like it a little more...
i have found that buying and selling QBs in a 1QB league is difficult...the owners usually want more than the buyer is willing to pay...

You could say that about literally any trade ever, though. What do we think if the first becomes a stud, Burton goes for 75/900/8 and Winston gets suspended again?

Regardless...this is a massive overpay for Winston's current value. It should be possible to get a much better QB for that price or a comparable QB for less.

My point exactly. I wouldnt make this trade as I do think its too much to give but to label any trade terrible, awful or horrible is a little premature without more information.

No...it's a bad trade because it should be able to be done for less. Regardless of what happens in the next 5 years, giving up 1st + Burton for Winston is going to be worse than giving up just the 1st. Or giving up a 2nd (which is closer to his true value). We can't know how any particular trade is going to look 3+ years from now, but giving up THIS much value in a deal is not going to work out for you more often than not. There aren't many QBs who are worth 1st + Burton. You pretty much have to assume the 1st is a bust AND Winston becomes a stud QB for this to possibly make sense.

Someone in my old TE premium league traded Aaron Hernandez for Jacquizz Rodgers like 2 months before Hernandez became a suspect in a murder...but it was still a dumb trade. Jacquizz was considered to be worth about a late first/early 2nd at the time, and although he never amounted to much he did produce more than nothing so you could argue that it was a good trade for the guy getting Jacquizz. However, Hernandez in a TE premium league was worth multiple firsts at the time. It was a dumb trade even in hindsight because he could've gotten an established stud in exchange.
