J Howard for Sanders?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

J Howard for Sanders?

Postby Jcedwards » Tue Oct 16, 2018 7:02 am

I posted yesterday about wanting to upgrade at WR3. I inquired on several WRs and had an owner come back and ask about Howard straight up for Sanders.

My league currently has a rule that we get 1 pt per 3 rushes, so of course that would favor Howard a little more, but it hasn't so far. Howard has 65 points on the year so far, while Sanders has 91 (granted Howard had his bye already). It is a .5 PPR league, so Sanders has been getting a ton of targets lately.

Sanders would slide into my 2nd FLEX spot instead of Howard. Is this trade a no doubter in that I should press accept immediately? Or will it weaken my depth at RB too much (granted I have 3 great options ahead of him, but you never know with injuries)? Should I hold out hope that Howard finally starts getting used more or that he gets traded to a team that will know how to use him properly?

I'm 5-1 and looking at what will give me a better shot at the championship this year.

My problem is Sanders is 32 years old, he is going to fall off pretty soon and nothing is worse than holding the bag on a player that's done. I'd wait a week or so and pray Howard can get his bleep together.

Yea I don't like Sanders age in dynasty, but I am 5-1 on the year, so I am looking at what will give me a better shot of winning a championship this year. I like Howard in dynasty, but just wondering if I should look to move him for a better piece for this year.

Move him. Cohen is taking on a much larger role, but I doubt Howard is valuable outside of Chicago, his talent is too replaceable. As much as I want Howard to succeed I feel like the window to sell is closing.

Having said that - I'd try to squeeze more out of a trade than Sanders straight up

Here's a thought to try and improve this year while still not selling out. Why not see if you can package Howard+Cooper for a guy like Golladay perhaps? Maybe Corey Davis or Arob? Maybe package Howard+Aaron Jones to a truther and see if you can get a solid return from 2 RB's for a high WR2 that's relatively young like Alshon Jeffrey?

I would gladly send my share of Sanders in return for Howard. I offered Tate for Howard to a guy who posted needing WR help, and he countered with JuJu for Howard. I agree with the poster above about asking for Golladay, or some other up and coming WR.

I think yesterday I suggested packaging Hines and Godwin. If you're looking to move Howard, packaging him and Godwin should get you something much better. If not, Howard, with those rules should get you someone younger/better than Sanders.

Guy with Sanders also has Golladay, so I can ask and get his thoughts. I have had discussions with the ARob owner and he does like Howard. He has issues at RB, so he is really looking for a RB, and I would assume I could get Arob fairly easy. I guess I'm not as high on the Bears offense though, until I see something more from Mitch. I know you can say the same about DEN with Keenum, but at least Sanders has a proven record. Guy with Jeffrey is a Eagles fan, so I highly doubt he is trading Alshon (unless he gets an overpay).

Yes you did. Wasn't sure on this certain trade that I was offered. Will look at packaging Hines and Godwin or Howard and Godwin.

Panic move...we wouldn't be selling Howard for pennies if that goal-line fumble had been a goal-line TD. Would've been a 13 pt day for him instead of 5 pts. If you're set on selling Howard to upgrade WR, I would need Sanders + 2nd at the very least.

I wasn't able to get Howard offering Alshon and a third, so good luck. I think there is a chance now that he is at buy-low territory, but Cohen is too small to be a workhorse back in the NFL. There are no guarantees Howard stays in Chicago and he will prob be a backup or change of pace back elsewhere.
