14 team league 1 PPR start 1 QB 1-2 RB 3-4 WR 1 TE 1 K 1 Def

Dalton/Bortles
Gurley/Kamara/McCaffrey/Chubb
Arob/Watkins/JohnBrown/Crabtree/Crowder/Godwin/KCole/TaywanTaylor/JamesWashington/Chark
Njoku/Goedert/Andrews/Henry (IR)
Kicker
Jacksonville

Im 4-1, in first place, and the highest scoring team in the league. If Sammy Watkins had caught one 5 yard pass before going out with a strained labia on Monday night a couple of weeks ago i'd be 5-0.

I made an offer to an 0-5 team for his Davante Adams. (I offered Chubb/Godwin/Cole/Washinton). I was perfectly willing to add to it or modify the offer. This is the counteroffer he sent me

I give: Gurley/Dalton/Cole/Godwin

Now ordinarily when i see Gurley or Kamara in a trade proposal i just shut it down. But.....

I get: Adams/Dalvin Cook/Royce Freeman/LatMurray/Deshawn Watson

Which would make my roster:

Watson/Bortles
Kamara/McCaffrey/Cook/Chubb/Freeman/Murray
Adams/Arob/Watkins/Brown/Crabtree/Crowder/Washington/Chark
Njoku/Goedert/Andrews/Henry

So, on the one hand, my team aint broke. Gurley is the #1 overall Dynasty asset, and Kamara may not be far behind. I won the championship last year, and have a good chance of being in the running again this year. Im in first place and am the highest scoring team in the league. I have the decided advantage of being able to roll two of Gurley/Kamara/McCaffrey out every week in a PPR league. Having 6 RB is overkill in a league where i can start a maximum of 2 RB.

On the other hand my WRs are inconsistent, and my QBs could turn back into pumpkins any day now. Acquiring Adams and Watson shores up those two positions with young talent. Acquiring Cook gives me a solid RB3 once he gets healthy, and Freeman and Chubb are both top flight prospects. You can never have too many RB. I could always trade one of them for another WR or a TE upgrade.

Trading away Gurley just seems wrong. But this offer seems like its in the ballpark of what it would take for me to do it.

It depends on a couple of things. Does your league actively trade? If so I would be pretty interested in this offer based on the pieces you are receiving especially in a 14 team league. Currently your WRs are suspect at best but considering you can only start 2 rbs this makes the trade that much more interesting to me because currently you are benching mccaffrey. This would upgrade your WR, your QB and give you two solid up and coming rbs. This could be the lowest you can buy cook and Freeman who I think have solid futures ahead of them. Worst case scenario is you can trade some of your young rbs later in the season for producers at RB/WR. I like the move for your team overall.

No. Gurley is the reason you’re winning. Theoretically your roster might be more balanced but there isn’t enough high end talent here to consider this

Take Godwin out of your side and I'd do it. I believe Cook will be producing top 10 numbers by years end and I also think Adams is a top 5 dynasty WR. Getting Royce Freeman and Watson on top isn't a bad haul for Gurley. In a 14 team league Depth matters more than usual. Losing Gurley is never ideal but rolling out Kamara/CMC each week isn't a HUGE downgrade compared to the HUGE upgrade you'll be getting from Adams to whatever crappy WR3 you'd have to role out.

I think the trade gives you a lot more balance. The problem is Gurley won you a championship all by himself last year. I don't think you're getting anybody that has that kind of ability.

I agree with most. However, Gurley does have tough match ups during the fantasy playoffs. The chances he does anything close do what he did last year is unlikely. If you can get overpay I don't think it's a crazy idea.

Zero elite or even potentially elite pieces coming back. Wouldn't even catch my interest.

I think that's a bit of a bold statement....Saying Cook doesn't have even the potential to be an elite RB is bold but saying Adams isn't (he already is) let alone doesn't have the potential seems extremely bold.

I assume you're aware Bortles & Dalton share the same bye week?

Lol yes. And as everyone in this league holds on to QB like grim death, I have acquired Taysom Hill as an emergency backup plan. Maybe he will score a random gadget TD that week.

Ok figured but had to ask. I assume that plays into your calculations - as in it would likely avoid a potential loss or Zero for you.

I think I am on the side of Gurley - but I would agree with you in that this is at least a deal that is worth mulling over and looking over from different angles.

I’m on the Gurley side as well. If you really want Adams, try a package with Kamara instead.
