I need a RB for my Championship push

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I need a RB for my Championship push

Postby kris_kapsner » Thu Oct 11, 2018 9:19 am

When I drafted Chubb back in May I thought Demarco Murray would be my 3rd RB behind Barkley and David Johnson.

Things have changed. I moved DJ for Mixon+Fuller+Stills

I'm trying to add an aging RB who could help bolster my RB core for my play off run. I have one of the top 3 teams in my league as the only team to score over 120 points in every week in our scoring, yet only pulled off the top score once so far.

If Chubb can't pull the starting job away from Hyde by the play offs, I may need another RB. So, I've targeted Lynch and McCoy who happen to be owned by the same team. We've been going back and forth and he's willing to trade them. But, he wants a young WR for them, naming Gordon, Fuller and Watkins. There's no chance I'll trade Watkins or Gordon for either one. But, Fuller for McCoy is a little tempting.

I've offered Stills + a 3rd and we'll see what the response is for McCoy.

But, in my situation with my team below, would you trade Fuller for McCoy if he doesn't have any interest in Stills?

Id be ok with sending a 2nd for Lynch, if it only cost you a 2nd to win a championship to win worth it.

I wouldn't move Fuller for McCoy. Why not just try to go after Hyde since you already own Chubb?

Jordan Howard is a possible great buy low at the moment, if the owner is in panic mode. I wouldn't move a guy like Fuller for someone like McCoy who is so close to the end.

Great suggestions. RB's are tough to find in 16 team leagues. So, I think I need to target older RB's on teams who look like they aren't playoff contenders so that I can get the player cheaper to keep in my back pocket for the playoffs. I'm going to inquire as the the cost of some of the guys you've suggested. Thanks!

D Freeman could be a petty good buy low for a championship push. I like the James White suggestion as well.

I feel like the James White owner isn’t selling him low right now though

16 team leagues are another monster so I think you're doing the right thing by targeting those RBs.

Although I'm not a big fan of McCoy in his current situation. He had a good game last week so this is a good time for owners to try and get rid of him. If you really want McCoy wait for another bad week then send that same offer you just sent and I think it will get accepted.

Fuller has a lot of potential so I think trading him for McCoy would be a mistake. I'd try to send some picks for Lynch also. If you're a playoff team 2nd round picks in a 16 man league especially with no IDP mean nothing. I'd happily send my 2nd for Lynch.

If I had to pick I'd prefer Lynch over McCoy in the current situation. Gruden is old school so he's gonna keep running that ball and Oak offense > Bills.

Gio is your RB3, just flip a 4th for Gallman and you're fine outside of bye weeks.

This is an interesting suggestion. I can probably get him very cheap so I'd have my handcuffs for both Mixon and Barkley. The problem is I'd have to open a roster spot. So, probably move a WR for Gallman and get a pick of some sort back.
